Western Suburbs Magpies Knock-On Effect NSW Cup coach Ben Gardiner has named his line-up for their Round 6 clash against South Sydney at Stadium Australia.

Gardiner has made several changes due to the reshuffle in Michael Maguire’s NRL side.

With hooker Jake Simpkin set to make his NRL debut, Zach Dockar-Clay moves from five-eighth to dummy-half, while Joseph Taipari has been promoted to the starting side.

NRL squad member Tuki Simpkins won’t feature for the Magpies after copping a two-game suspension for a crusher tackle during the side’s win over Mounties last Sunday.

Prop Tom Amone has been named to start in the front row, alongside Alex Seyfarth and lock Tom Freebairn.

Asu Kepaoa’s stint for the Magpies lasted just one week after he was recalled to the first-grade line-up.

Youngster Israel Ogden has been promoted from the Jersey Flegg side and will start at centre for the clash against the Rabbitohs.

The second-placed Magpies will be looking for four-straight wins when they face the Rabbitohs on Saturday.

The Round 6 match kicks-off at 12:40pm at Stadium Australia and will be shown live of Fox League and Kayo.

Good to see Israel Ogden get a run, he's been carving up Flegg apparently

Yep, and you would think the team will be strengthened further when Liddle trots out at 9 this week.

If he stays at 18th man he won't play reserves right? Is that how it works?

Yeah that’s right, 18th man basically has a duty to be ready to go in case there’s an injury in warm ups

Re-name the comp The Dead End NSW Cup.

These guys could play out of their skin and it wouldnt matter. In reserve grade they stay.

Ignore it if you like but guys like madden, Tuki, Cini etc beg to differ.

We have some real talent in reserves but we are back at the Sheens days where only 2/3rds of the squad are considered 'good enough.

Guys in first would have to sleep with the coaches wife to be dropped.

Liddle literally just got dropped as did AJ the week before, BJ the week before.....but yeah...ok.

We are only 5 weeks in and Maguire has dropped someone in 3 of the 5 weeks. Mrs Maguire must be a goer, or alternatively, you are making stuff up.

Madden isnt better than Brooks, Cini cant tackle. Tuki its a matter of time.

Madden will end up proving he can control a game and lead a team around better than Brooks.

Cini can tackle and has a real knack of making the right decision. He seems more clutch than most of our backs.

Tuki doesnt need time he needs an opportunity. One he isnt getting while the coach tries to appease the current playing squad. Most of whom are letting him down. (suspension obviously lets the coach of the hook this week)

He might "end up" proving that. When he does, he can replace Brooks. We are not there yet.

Cini can tackle and has a real knack of making the right decision. He seems more clutch than most of our backs.

Ive seen his games this year and his defence isnt good. He may not be far off, simply because our outside backs are so bad, but the fact is, he is not there yet.

Tuki doesnt need time he needs an opportunity. One he isnt getting while the coach tries to appease the current playing squad. Most of whom are letting him down. (suspension obviously lets the coach of the hook this week)

Tuki will get there, he is VERY young and our pack isnt our biggest problem at the moment.

and yet its not our biggest problem. See how it works?

How many players would you suggest it is a good idea to replace in a week and yet maintain some cohesion?

Madden is a great talent. Let him gain experience in the NSW Cup to prepare him for the NRL.
