Burton will cop the full force of the NRL's wet lettuce leaf or maybe even a suspended fine for that pile driver tackle.

Despite requiring an excavator to extract Staggs' head from Suncorp the Bunker decided against sending Burton to the bin 🙄

Meanwhile Api sits out for a month due to gravity.

Yep I thought the same, Madden has poor defence BUT the options in attack would have teams rattled, Ads is playing out of his skin, Jerome the unpredictable crab and Madden pinning kicks deep in the corner and straightening plays up field . could definitely work

It is was it is, but my concern is just losing him. I saw what happened when he was off the field for 10 mins the other night, so I’m genuinely concerned about the next 3 games.
But, as somebody said, “ next man up”, which seems somewhat appropriate on Anzac Day.
This will be another big test for our depth and attitude.
PS. Which reminds me, can anyone remember seeing a Tigers outfit as relaxed and carefree as we were at 1/2 time on Thursday. Lots of smiles, jokes and laughter it’s not normally what you see at the break ! If that works then it’s ok but if it leads to a drop in intensity then get focused. I’ll be monitoring in future games.

I think we have to consider it a rest for Api & just cop the three weeks. If we were to appeal it, we all know how our luck with officials goes, we aren’t one of the golden teams. We need the boys to step up another notch & cover us for a missing hooker & leader.
It is going to be interesting to see if similar tackles are policed the same way for the rest of the round.
They keep saying we can’t win & we keep proving them wrong, we just need the boys to keep believing in each other.

100% ... remember not long back we lost Jerome and May with injury for 3 weeks and we all though the ship would sink but we didn't loose a game..who ever covers for Api will do there job and Api will return fully fresh for the Tigers v Lloyd Galvin take down.

They want you to not take the risk of tackling from behind, let the player score a try, better than you going for 10min, and then copping 3 weeks out, should at worst be a penalty, even if player gets hurt,

After watching the sharks game last night, there big pack goes straight up the middle , we will miss api , madden is not a great defender, think benji will go with HOPE and LATU , and hope they can stop the sharks coming down the middle

I think you’re right. Hope to start with Latu on the bench to cover hooker.

I'd leave Madden at 14 and do a straight swap Latu for Api and put Hope on the end of the bench extension.

I feel that Hope will be a straight forward hooker for hooker swap.
He played there last year when Api was out.
It's a tough draw coming up, but our team is not what it was - we're different on so many levels, especially in defense.

Noticed Sione Fainu played a bit of dummy half, you could always get him to start for defensive purposes and just get him to shovel passes to the halves

Once the game has softened up a bit you can put Latu/Madden/Hope in there to play out the remainder and Sione goes back into the prop rotation

Soft copping 3 weeks considering Kenny got 1 game and iongi out for 2 months when it’s his second hip drop in 12 months (which is odd considering his last hip drop caused Nat butcher to have a MCL injury). If anyone knows anyone in the club maybe this could be helpful to fight the charge or at least downgrade it a bit cause I think it’s BS

Hope has to be API’s replacement with Latu as his cover. You can’t play 80 minutes of NRL with a part time or even 2 part time no 9s. Your DH is the most important player on the field and Hope will do the job

I’m remembering back to the 70s when some players covered front rower & Hooker. (Elwyn Walters, John Grey)
Don’t think it would work today.
They are not hookers today they are dummy half’s with no worries about receiving a Liverpool kiss when the first scrum packed down.
Oh the things I miss about the old game.

Of course it will be Hope. Next man up, recruited and trained for it. Confidence in the system, backing the individual has been working.

There was a bit when he was made top 30 (I think) about how hard he'd worked and the boys love him.

I looking forward to a team/system that just matches on with the change.

Latu Fainu should play hooker. He is a good defender and can be creative from dummy half. He is the best option we have much better than Tristan Hope.

If Latu plays a whole game at Hooker he’ll either get knocked out or put on report from his weird tackling tech. Never seen a bloke aim at the shins like he does. It’s so effective, to the point that the attacker drops so fast they almost face plant. But it won’t be long until he cops a knee in the face from some late footwork.
