Krisnan Inu

Like the Eels, Inu has returned to form of late. Only weeks earlier the 22-year-old was at a crossroads when Parramatta told the former Kiwi international he was free to negotiate with other teams.

There were no takers.

Enter trainer Hayden Knowles.

‘‘About six weeks ago when everyone was bagging the team and getting in to me, I had a challenge from Hayden to show everyone else that I wanted to be out there,’’ Inu said.

‘‘And the only way to do that was to really focus and train hard.

‘‘I didn’t really take all the speculation about my future or form to heart, but it bothered a lot of people at the club and in my family and it got to me in the sense that I wanted to prove myself and show everyone that I could still play.

‘‘I think for me, we had a few problems at the start of the year with blokes getting injured, new positions and we didn’t really have any chance to build combinations. It was pretty frustrating and I probably lost my spark a bit.

‘‘But I’m loving my footy again.’’

And his greater involvement in games has not gone unrecognised by coach Daniel Anderson.

‘‘I think first and foremost, Krisnan has been more committed and a bit more confrontational in the way he’s played,’’ Anderson said.

‘‘He is getting more involved and saying Jarryd Hayne’s enthusiasm has started to rub off on him is a fair statement.

And Inu, who celebrates his 50th NRL game today, is adamant he will do whatever he can to in his beloved blue and gold colours.

‘‘I can’t see myself at any other club,’’ he declared.

Building up my post count!…Ive got a massive total of 6 you goose

He is dead slow this year - hope it is fitness and not permanent. Took an intercept a fortnight ago and pulled up like a lame horse, same yesterday when Hayne sliced through.

I noticed the same thing, as soon as he got out in the open he started looking for support

Ankle, knee and hamstring injuries contribute to a players overall speed, endurance and fitness. He is fighting his way back slowly from various niggling injuries and has been severely low on confidence for most of 2009\. A fresh start with a full off-season can often work wonders. Bring the Minto boy back home. Inu is one who should not have been allowed to escape the farm in the first place.

Got a photo with my daughters and him weeks back and he told me he loves the Campbelltown area. He is a real nice down to earth, softly spoken guy.

Would prefer to keep devloping Ayshford in the centres

Its frightening seeing how good Ayshford is after so little NRL games.

Yep - atm I think we should keep him there and focus on players who we desperately need - prop forwards.

We all know that won't happen. Mr. Manufacturer has Ayshford earmarked as a backrower. But hopefully, he can see the worth and value Ayshford is providing in the three-quater position at present.

We can hope Gobbs. Ayshford is sure to bulk up in the off-season but I hope he works really hard on developing his pace as well. The quicker he is the more chance he has of staying in the centres, at least I hope so.

Hopefully his body responds to an off season in the weights room. Like the coaching staff have said, he hasn't done any weights since he came to the club because of his wrist injuries. His body might respond quickly like Lawrence, or not at all like Fulton.
