In this article the Dragons have stated Stanley wont be offered a contract for 2015….injuries cruelled him there but he is playing very well for Samoa..

Can cover all backline positions....would be a handy acquisition...

No way in Hell … He's been useless for Samoa . We already have excess baggage !

The only thing he has been good at for Samoa is making Ben Roberts look like Jonathan thurston… He is absolutely rubbish!! 4 of him wouldn't make 1 moltzen...

Yah, he's been really poor for Samoa - although halfback is his worst position IMO.

Never reached the potential he once had, very unfortunate. On a 2nd tier contract, I'd take him though. Definitely handy as a fill-in.

Anything else, no thanks.

Why in God's name would we want to sign another 2nd rate centre

God knows mate … It seems a lot of people on here get "boner's" when anyone comes of contract !

We have to stop always thinking cheap… We should only buy top shelf players from other clubs.. No wanna be players

What you just said is the equivalent of a starving homeless man walking into a restaurant and being given a sandwich and then complains he wanted a roast instead. Reminds me of that old saying beggers can't be choosers.

The reason we resort to buying '' wanna be'' players is because of the position we've put ourselves in over the last couple of years. Thats the reality of it.

What top shelf player would we attract after our dismal efforts over the last couple of years on the field. plus the circus we've been off it? The only players we can attract at the moment are players looking for a regular fg spot,or the scraps of the bigger clubs that need to make cap space.

We have about as much chance of attracting top shelf players at the moment as the Raiders.

Then we should promote an u20s player instead. With the money we'd save, chase an elite player next year.

x2

We shall first try our NSW cup/U20's e.g. (Fine, Seve, Milone, Southwrite, Santi, Funaki, Liolevave, M Woods, Graham, J Grant, Cherington etc.)

Than if necessary, purchase players like: Ellis, Taupau, Lodge etc.

Go Tigers :sign:

Big difference to a so-so player with NRL exp and a 20s player being pushed up too soon because we cant attract experienced NRL players

When most sides have 80% of their cap tied up in 4 or 5 players you have to "toss the coin" on a number of fringe players. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.

Toss the coin on Stanley, you just never know.
