Lachlan Coote

I've been hearing that Lachlan Coote could be leaving the Panthers should he get an offer at another club. Michael Gordon has been killing it at the back and with rumours of a Gower return, you'd assume they'd need some $$$ to free up so Coote could be the odd man out.

I think Coote could be one of the best non-forward signings we could make. Coote has it all for a fullback except size, but he's got a lot of ticker. He's got the support play, he's got the ball playing, heck, he's a great goal kicker to boot (pardon the pun). At the very least he'd give Sheens his ball playing/running/whatever fullback that he'd try and make out of Moltzen and it would shift him away from the fullback position at least.

Been linked to Souths, would take him in a blink, but I would still like to see Mullaney given a go just to see if he can cut the mustard. McKinnon is really good, but way too slow and those hammys are to unreliable for the NRL

We have an able fullback in Mitch Brown and benji won't relinquish kicking duties.

NO THANKS @ LACHLAN COOTE.

@happy tiger; Wes Naiqama can also play fullback, however he isn't the most amazing player.
Word is he may not get a contract renewal under Wayne Bennet, I assume he'd come cheap and could be a good pick up, even if just for depth.

Hopate Jnr @ Manly will be getting some decent offers from a few clubs, couldn't hurt to have a look at him. He's been carving up @ FULLBACK and can cover any position in the back line.

How could you go past William Hopoate if looking to sign a fullback?
I`m happy to give Jake Mullaney his chance, but Hopoate would be the one if we`re looking to sign a new fullback.

The hottest young talent on the market, he will command big dollars but really cant see him going anywhere, Manly will not let him slip away

I don`t think so either, but from my understanding he does want to play fullback. That`s not possible when Many are full strength and the other sides reportedly chasing him are the Bulldogs, they surely aren`t going to move Ben Barba after the start to the season he is having, Parramatta, could you see them moving Jarryd Hayne? Possibly move Hayne to 5/8 which personally I don`t think would be a bad idea, but I reckon they would be hesistant to do so as it didn`t work for them last time they tried it and also the Dragons, they have just resigned their promising youngster Kyle Stanley on the promise he will be given first chance at replacing Darius Boyd at fullback for them next season.

It`s only really us, the Gold Coast & Souths without a genuine top class fullback, the Gold Coast must surely be running out of money under the salary cap & Souths have a potential superstar of their own in James Roberts, plus who`d really want to play for Souths?

i would be happy to take lachlan coote, he is quick and may also be a good choice for a goal kicker. Can i ask is he any chance related to famous south sydney/ eastern suburbs player ron coote?

Coote has been injured alot in the last 12 months,he plays for Penrith so he fits the bill, maybe too young though.

I would like to see Mullaney get a good crack it before signing someone else if we aren't happy with McKinnon, Moltzen and Brown doing the job. He carved up the U/20s and we shouldn't punt him because he is a little smaller than regular fullbacks. Look at Bowen, Gardner and Barba go.

Coote is one of my favourite players, but it'd be silly to buy him if we have Mullaney. Jake even offers goalkicking.

Mullaney won't get a run so we may aswell stop talking about him no matter how much we love him, he just doesn't have the size….

Coote would be very nice....running off Benji/Lui/Farah....hmmmm i think im gonna have wet dreams about that tonight ! ...

not much difference in size between him and coote and these players nathan gardner, preston campbell, ben barba, shannon mcdonnell, and brett hodgson, size means jack…

Coote has bulked up since early last year,he is not as small as you think.
