OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

Totally agree, it was always going to be either a master stroke or an absolute disaster appointing him. It's looking like the latter atm.

The disaster was signing Sheens again and the board swallowing Tim's rubbish about he and Benji being our future.Benji could well be our future if he had been given the right preparation for becoming our coach,2 years of being an understudy to a man who was a decade out of the modern game was never going to work.

What Sh*ts me is the arrogance of the bloke to go along with it.....
"The last 5 years of my playing career I was pretty much coaching anyway"
Biggest load of lard I've heard...

Heard Ciraldo say in a Chammas interview he went to the Dogs because he wanted a coach in Gus to lean on - Or words to that effect (I don't know everything he said) He's been coaching Lower Grades for 10 years or more...
Brett Morris (Coaching Already) Says his NRL head coach gig is miles in the future.

Wants the Squad to do the hard yards
While he waltzes into the top job without a lick of experience!!
Then hires his 2 best mates that also have zero experience....

I don't doubt Benji has the attributes to be an NRL coach, All he's done in this scenario
- Is kill any genuine career or ambition he may have had...

I just hope we don't keep bending to void him of accountability...

It's a very good point you make. He's taken the short cut to be an NRL coach, is he still taking short cuts in his role?

I would suggest so.....
He didn't work for his spot
- And there's been plenty of Debutants and Top 30 spots given out like smarties along with it.

When has a coach not been held accountable at this club? Ciraldo would have jumped at the opportunity if the systems were in place and the roster was solid - we offered him 5 years. Benji got the job by default, but it comes with a whole lot of downside that would have turned off many.
I get why people question if he has the capabilities, but can't bag him for having the courage to take it on.

Squad is decidedly better now than when Madge was here....
Even you'd have to admit that.
It probably is yeh but i’d say Sheens had the best squad of all 3 coaches. Look I get all the frustrations with Benji because i’ve shared them these last couple of weeks if i'm being honest but I don’t see how getting rid of him will fix anything because it doesn’t change the roster we have.

Is it courage.... Or Stupidity?
I see what you're saying, But confidence has never been Benjis' issue (Reality, At times - Has)
"We're only 3 wins out of the 8"

The reality is, He'd had no experience - And neither have 2 of his assistants....
There's no one in the game that thought it'd work - He's just lucky he's got plenty of mates...
They'll turn eventually.

If I were asked to Pilot an A380, I wouldn't just give it a 'yeah no worries'....
Despite spending plenty of time on one, His courage to tackle the situation knowing every coach he's had did years of hard work is stupidity.
If he did want to be a coach, He's give himself the worst start possible by strutting straight to the top making a mockery of all the blokes that spend years in the Trenches before taking or getting an opportunity.

It's disrespectful to the role - Even more so juggling a young family along with it.

Getting a coach that will train them at uncomfortable levels, and train them in the trenches....
Instead of running around playing touch footy with them might help no end!!
- And that's without even considering coaching ability.

Wasn’t Madge that coach? then the boys were complaining he’s too tough & that they were getting flogged every week. And again, flog them in the trenches as much as you like but we are currently the youngest & most inexperienced side in the comp & the roster management has been absolutely atrocious. We got 5 kids coming into the top 30 next year coupled with the kids we already have who haven’t even played 50 games yet… the sheer incompetence that was allowed to fester on by the old management was a disgrace & I hate to say it but it’s most likely going to take another 2-3 years to fix.
