He's a genuine star and his stocks are rising.
The kids are going to idolise him.
He's a must keep.
But yeah, we need to drastically improve across the squad. I think we're heading in the right direction but on paper we're still not there yet.
We haven’t held an ace in years, and even when we got lucky and 4 fell in our lap, we had a fish holding our cards. The kid and his manager holds all the Aces.
It sounds to me like he is saying “I’ll give the Wests Tigers 2 more years but then I’ll have to cash in”.
We won’t worry the top teams next year, but maybe in 26 we can rattle some cages.
We need his manager to resist signing elsewhere in November 25. The kid will have interest everywhere. That decision can wait until mid 26.
If I was him, I would be well aware that the club is in trouble. However with the coming players - one of whom is elite - that can be turned around. If Galvin, Bula, TDS and Fainu can all grow and work with Luai and Api….it can be achieved. It will take 4-5 years though. He needs to sign a 3 year deal with us to be sure. If we fail, he’ll still be young enough to attract major attention and become a multi million dollar player in a contender setup.
The glory hound in me would want to do that here. Lifting a piece of shit club to premiership victory with my mates would be worth far more than money and like I said, if it fails there’s still plenty of time to become a legend elsewhere. Hedge your bets son, it isn’t that big of a risk…..
I really dislike Benji's attitude - in life it makes sense and I get it, nothing is that serious blah blah, but in footy... not so much.

His whole career was about having fun with mates. Playing footy for fun.
Just hope this doesn't impact hard work.
This. I hope he extends but all the talk behind the talk points to him signing elsewhere at the end of 2025 (for 2027). Hope we're just reading too much into semantics but it seems pretty blatant at this point in time...I see it the other way around....
He seems very definitive by continuously re-iterating
"We're here for 2 more years" Or
"I Have 2 more years left on my contract"
Mentions he wants to help turn the club around - But nothing about playing here outside his current contract.
If he's not extended by mid season next year, He's holding out to sign elsewhere for mine....
There's no way he plays out the next 2 years on the money he's on if he's looking to stay at the WT's long term.
If he was planning on sticking around - He gets an extension along with an immediate pay rise.

Thing is with Luai coming here he will be partnered with currently the best and most in form halves partner in the competition.
On top of that Luai's easy going high fiving style will really take the pressure off and excitingly for him he has a chance to become a local pin up boy with a club at rock bottom on the way up.
Easier than a Roosters or Brisbane or even Bears contract me thinks.
The Luai partnership is an edge so Shane just has to be in the mix.
It will be Shane's first big test.
That is true and saw that Luai was crabbing a bit on Saturday night with Penrith's back rowersnot as effective. That partnership won't mean jack or be able to do jack without some room to play....
Something our halves haven't had for a very long time.
And beware second year syndrome with Galvin, it happened with Bula this year and is real. Opposition will be all over him in 25.That partnership won't mean jack or be able to do jack without some room to play....

I think there is abit of a difference these blokes are seasond veterans a majority of our team are rookies. Rookies would struggle in a system like that specially when we loose as many games as we did.
A little from column a, a little from column b.I think there is abit of a difference these blokes are seasond veterans a majority of our team are rookies. Rookies would struggle in a system like that specially when we loose as many games as we did.
As our team gains more experience and more pressure mounts on them things will intensify but for now I can see why benji has gone with this approach
It's an interesting concept though - Madge was a hard task-master and by many reports this approach doesn't work so well with younger players any more. This worries me about Benji, do you really want training to be chill? Would training at the Storm be chill?
"Especially how chill he makes it and how fun he is. He tells me to go out there and enjoy myself and that I play this sport for fun. "
Seems the world now has to pander to sooky la la’s 🤣It's an interesting concept though - Madge was a hard task-master and by many reports this approach doesn't work so well with younger players any more.
Two of the best coaches of the past 20 years, Bellamy and Bennett, one is a high-intensity boss with very specific game plans, the other is a renowned man-manager who is good at getting performances out of his roster. Benji has a significant history with Bennett and it's not surprising his management style leans more towards "the feels" rather than a military-style approach.
I would not be surprised at all, over the next 10 years, if the military style of coaching gradually falls out of favour, based on the needs and expectations of younger generations.
Like it or not, the sooky la la's may in fact be making all the decisions over the upcoming decades, and those of us in nursing homes will hope they don't suddenly become brutally indifferent la la's when it comes to our ongoing geriatric care.Seems the world now has to pander to sooky la la’s 🤣
Whatever works man !Seems the world now has to pander to sooky la la’s 🤣
