OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

Yeah, nah!
Let him be our lacky, keep him for the duration of his contract as backup. Don’t let him and Is-sac win he is not on much money, so no loss if he has to play in reserve grade or at lock.
We can’t keep buckling every time some toe rag player/manager applies pressure. Otherwise it will never stop.
Who gives a fack about the media’s thoughts they hate us anyway, just show some balls for once!! Appease your fans not the other pelicans!
Simples, we can’t get a backup half for the cash that turd is on, and there’s not many available.
I also don’t believe the narrative that the clubs do the same things as managers/players. Players can refuse to go if they want aka Packer. It’s up to them, not the same as players agitating, tanking and using the media to suit their agendas.
Said the same thing myself many times. Although clubs do move players on when they feel like it, the player ALWAYS gets their money. The clubs most of the time don't get a player of similar or better ability.

The issue with getting to the top 4 with Luai and Latu is our kicking game. That's the only thing holding them back. Latu without a single doubt in my mind improves our attack enormously compared to Galvin. He will free up Bula and Toa so much along with his right edge backrower. Only time will tell, but mark my words, 4 games straight in the 6 jersey and you will see Bula and Toa destroying teams off the back of Latu's ability to open up space for outside men.
I agree Latu can do those things. The problem is keeping him on the field. It might be time for a visit to the US for that hamstring specialist if the club is banking on him moving forward.
As far as top 4, personally I don't think we have the forwards for that. Of course that can change and hopefully we can pick up another prop from somewhere, but the injury to Pole has exposed us badly.

The fox news cycle is truly amazing

Gossip and speculate on 360

Then create a news article about it on your website and social media.

Who needs facts right?
I’m old enough to remember the days of the old NRL on Fox on Wednesday night. It was one show a week. Smith, Daley, talk about whatever is topical, have an in studio interview with a player, and life moved on. Fast forward 20 years later and this 360 crap, that’s only about journos getting their heads on tv and massaging their own egos. Making the game all about them.

I've always said the Dally M is a bit of an illusion.

Taking it to an extreme for effect, a decent player in a team of terrible players has no one taking votes from him and will look better than he actually is.

An amazing player in a team of amazing players will lose out on votes because he doesn't stand out.

Reasons I think this:
a) For Hughes to win it last year was just massive. He is a great player in a team of great players, but also aided by the sheer volume of votes that would've been awarded to such a winning team.
b) Ponga won it (2023?). Great player, not many 'vote stealers'. Knights pretty much a one man show. Similar for Turbo, but he had DCE, so not as evident.
c) Brooks won half back of the year (2018?). I don't care what year it was, there is no way in hell Luke Brooks was ever the best half back in the NRL. But probably had a decent year and got a vast majority of votes given to the tigers.
I think Brooks won it in 2018 because, if my memory serves me right, most of the better Halfs went down for extended periods during the year. Credit where credit is due, he was the last man standing.

Indifferent form in a competitive side for Cleary, Moses wooden spoon year, DCE Manly not far behind, Cronk started slow and had too many stars around him to get the honours. RTS took all of Johnson’s points and I can’t think of too many others. The only challenger was Mitch Pearce who was smashing it to begin with and almost took it home despite being out for roughly half the season from a pec injury.
That said though Brooks won it on the back of 7 man of the match performances or at least 3 Dally M points from the judges including 2 points in a heavily beaten side vs the Raiders at Campbelltown.
Maybe Marshall should of got some of the points as well but it seems like every time we won Brooks got the Dally M points.

That's exactly it. But history shows Brooks won it, which the layman could (understandably) think "Whoah! Brooks was a better player than Cooper Cronk that year!"

Which I think is incontrovertibly insane....

Brooks' win that year has been pulled out heaps on here; as though he went from being the best half in the NRL and coaches ruined him.... 🙄

Exactly why it's rarely actually the game's best player who wins it.

I miss the good old Rugby League Week player surveys! 😂
