OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

The kids 18 with a long career ahead of him. Earning a lot less than some of the others next to him & the club is asking him to play busted for what purpose?

We are not making the finals this year.

Of all the juniors that the club constantly talks up as being the best since 2005, he is about the only one that looks better than a fringe first grader.
Their is a motive behind sharing this information in a negative way and your reaction is exactly the response that it was aimed for. You can back that but I will give the club/ doctors the benefit at this point.

I don't put a lot of weight into what 360 says.

That said, if the rumours have any basis, he's asked to be released beginning of the year, parents 'demanding' a path be set out for him to consider the value of staying, and now angling for a release later in the year?

All this, in one season?

Is this what it's going to be like every season- pander to him in order to retain him?

If there is any truth to these rumours, he sounds like a potential long-term headache.

Not heard a peep from Latu in that time.
Lachlan himself at 18/19 would just be in awe of playing NRL and for Benji. His parents have a close association with the club.

It all boils down to one of the biggest grubs in the game, his manager.

If he played for any other team this is not a story.
The club would not be playing him if the had was broken.

Might have something minor but most player do and he looks happy to be playing.

The only thing to fix this rubbish is winning.

Yes I have been advocating for him to have a rest for a few weeks now. Go back and win the Flegg comp. Take TDS and some of the others with him and create a winning combination. Bring them through together next year.

As good as playing NRL must be as an 18/19 year old, I think getting smashed every week and on target for the spoon again can't be good for their development, not to mention their mental health. I agree, put them all in the one team, and bring them through together, with some wins behind them, too.

The Tigers have begged Galvin to play through the pain and the 18-year-old has been happy to help the club out.
Remember when Tony Adams was a somewhat credible journo, before he was reduced to writing how clubs were “begging” their own players to play through injury. If they’ve asked him to, I think that’s poor form from the club, but to use a term like ”begging” is used solely to generate clicks and be as sensationalist as possible. You wouldn’t piss on journos like that.

Broken hand is a bit excessive. If it's a wrist sprain or something, maybe it's OK to tough it out but if there's an actual unhealed fracture, it would be quite negligent to let him continue playing for inconsequential games. If it's a small fracture, they take 3-4 weeks to heal anyway.

This bloke is mates with Lachy's manager and keeps on pushing a narrative that Galvin wants out

I get where you are coming from but has the club asked him to play? Or does he want to play? If the injury can't get worse and he wants to play, it's not hindering his game and will heal anyway, why stop him? If it was a soft tissue injury then this would be a different conversation.
Exactly. It’s all speculation. If every player was stood down with any injury you’d need 50 in the squad.

Cool ! Rest him for who ?
We have Reuben Porter on the bench this week , and 4 jersey flegg players in the extended squad .
We are light as anything .
As for the TDS thing , his manager has been agitating to use him or lose him . Who’s his manager …. One Mario Tartak …
Perfect world is Sullivan finds some form , he puts a nice presentation in the shop window for the rest of the season , we move Galvin back , and Sezer and Sullivan do a job for us , whilst Galvin works on his deficiencies , Fainu works on his body , and Luai works on winning another premiership .
But that all relies on Sullivan to lift … people have been wanting that at the dragons since he was 18 .

Can't believe they let that grub back into the game.

St'George have wanted Sullivan to be consistent week in week out,He was so inconsistent they jumped for joy when we went after him.

Glavin has a hand injury no one knows exactly what is wrong with it he's agent is a grade 1 twat
who wants him out of the Tigers.

Now with Galvin, if we were all in his boots would we stay or go. Deep down we all know the answer, unless there is dramatic change in personal and results.

Why would Latu complain he is sitting out games with injury and getting paid. Surely he would have been a better option that Sullivan for the last couple of weeks

They might as well fold it all up then. If every good player is going to keep moving on then Wests will always be last.
A few of these young guys said at the beginning of the year they wanted to build something special here and keep all the young guys together, it didn't take long for that to go out the window. Life is full of challenges and things won't always be easy, but it's always much sweeter when you have earn't something then having it given to you.
