OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

Sullivan to 6 and Fainu or Kepaoa on the bench with Twal coming back - depends if Fainu is up to 80 mins before he gets a bench spot.

Big worry this game with or without Galvin - 5 day turnaround and flying to Brisbane vs them off the bye.

it’ll be Sullivan. Latu’s still on a minutes restriction in Cup and they’ll likely want him to do at least a month playing 80 week-to-week before they think about first grade.

both Redcliffe and St George will certainly test Bud out defensively. Redcliffe did a brilliant job of isolating Tanah Boyd this weekend and similar will be done on Bud. it was clear to see in the St George trial how they view him defensively as well.

on the other side of the ball, if he doesn’t run the football then opposition teams will just double team Olam and that’ll be the end of it.

I’m more confident of us beating the Dragons than I am the Dolphins but Galvin’s absence will throw a spanner in the works in regards to combos and structures, especially with a five day turnaround. fingers crossed Bud makes good on the promise he’s shown in the past.
What is a minutes restriction?

It has to be Sullivan. Why else was he brought to the club?

Kepaoa stays on the bench as a result. Covers most spots to a degree.
Yeah, why not.

He stayed on the bench for the Parramatta game as did Bud.

Pretty sure that we ran with only 15 players unless I missed something.

I'd imagine Sullivan will be the pick.

Should be told to think run first. It's his biggest, possibly only, strength.

Would be nice to see Fainu on the bench, but wouldn't mind him getting more minutes under his belt in KOE.

They played Titans.

Hand up I was doubtful because of his build and age. Egg on my face
You have no egg on your face and neither do I or many others.
It was right to be concerned. We’ve seen this club and others destroy the careers of young guys many many times. As Braith pointed out, this isn’t like how Sam Walker was elevated into a team of stars who were killing it, he has come into a team of losers and thrived.
The boy is playing like a 10 year veteran. What he is doing is astonishing. Silly old Rothfield thinks the race for rookie of the year is already over lol…
I don’t feel stupid for criticising the way we were talking about him. I thought it was dangerous and possibly harmful to his development considering the less than stellar showings of TDS and Matamua when elevated too early.
We are witnessing the birth of something special here.

Sullivan but very concerned about his defence.

Hopefully we don’t move Sezer to the left as he’s doing well holding down the right side while the left side has Bateman and Olam to protect Bud.

Nice to be able to trust the process that those making the decisions know what they are doing more than the fans. It's hard to argue that Benji/coaching team didn't know what they were doing with this one and those who were doubting must at the very least be pleased about that. It may even help us retain him.

Hopefully Galvin only cops a fine on the downgrade. If he does get one week would love to see Latu Fainu get a run. He looked outstanding two weeks ago in NSW Cup only played 40 mins but was elite.

What is a minutes restriction?
Kind of like a pitch restriction for a baseball pitcher where they take them out of the game when they’ve reached a predetermined amount of pitches. Fainu is apparently being restricted to a certain amount of minutes per week right now. Last week it was 40 minutes, yesterday it appeared to be 60ish.

Astonishing when I heard him say that. Fox are taking the piss using Rothfield for comedy.

As for the Galvin suspension, in a round about sort of way, might not be bad for his young body to have a couple of weeks off. Not so good for the team short term, but better in the long run.

That’s what I was thinking. Put in him cotton wool for a couple of weeks.
