OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

Talking about 3rd parties, would it be better for Harry Triguboff to provide private sponsorship of players (3rd party deals) like Galvin rather than sponsor the club?

If he has no direct association with the club, he could provide millions to players we need to retain. I’m just not sure if he has a current association with the club.
Harry is too busy chopping his mega unit structures down to 39 stories to avoid the imminent “view tax” for 40 stories & above

Any chance that Harry might be the main sponsor next year ?

Kids got a long way to go, funny some are calling him the a future immortal.

with a manager like Moses I fear he will be hyped into failure.

played a few good games and made some dumb decision, he is young but I would be waiting till the end of next season before I label him with anything more than great potential. Same with Latu.

Future immortal big call , still waiting on Luke brooks to kick on, was going to be the next Andrew John's. I really hope Galvin does turns out the way people are saying 🙏 but give him more time , we don't even know if he's the best young half at the club yet do we? , we haven't seen enough of Latu yet i think people have put a line through him too soon. interesting next year for Galvin , 2nd year rookies generally struggle.

I don't get this obsession that just because he is tall and will probably fill out that he is destined to move into the forwards. Think about his current strengths - he plays both sides of the field, he is vocal and demands the ball at first receiver when he sees an opportunity, he has a bullet long cutout pass on him, he has a decent kicking game, particularly his attacking kicks, he can beat a man on the outside with a bit of guile and slight of hand. That's the DNA of someone who should be in the halves or at a pinch fullback. But he is not quick enough to be fullback.
If you put him at lock, maybe he gets to use his passing game a bit as a link man, but none of the other skillset he has. If you put him in the second row he basically becomes a hole runner with an offload in him at best. As a lock or second rower, he will never kick a ball, call a play, or roam both sides of the field ever again. Gavin Miller is probably the only guy I can think of who has been given that license from those positions.
Galvin is a five eighth. That's where he is best utilized. If they try to force him into the forwards he almost certainly leaves to go to a much smarter club that will play him in the halves.
I somewhat agree. But also believe a 6 should be able to accelerate to beat a backrower with pace in order to collapse a defensive line in. Although not quick he can still do this to some extent. If he puts on weight will he still be able to?
He reminds me a little of Drew Hutchinson. He was an absolute gun junior playing as a 7. He had all the skillset you describe above however never really cut it at NRL level as he was just to slow as he physically developed. I think Galvin will be much better than Hutchinson. I also believe he will likely leave if shifted out of the halves. I'm just not convinced long term he will be an elite half though also not convinced he wont/can't be one either.

no one has labelled him an immortal…

Phil Gould has had the highest praise for him that I have heard … ulterior motives there no doubt.,,
Remember Gould went to visit the Fainu brother who is in Jail...when Latu and Samuela were given permission to look for another club...bet he hasn't been back!....Gould and Politis are the biggest snakes in the game...the only difference is Gould shows his hand more.

dickheads .. but they get the results … maybe we need Julie and The Wig doing something similar

Agree… but that was 1 yr… and he debuted in 2003.

Anyway my point is consistency over a long period.

Benji 2005 was amazing!!! Better than galvin for sure… but I believe over a 10 year career galvin will win more accolades and be more consistent than Benji

Just my opinion
Benji was one of the best broken field runners I've ever seen, able to step off either foot without losing pace
But he wasn't a constructive playmaker focussed on creating opportunities for those around him..it was pretty much an afterthought, hence the crazy passes into row 3 when his own opportunities were limited...
..which is why imo he won't make a great coach
Galvin doesn't rely on his physical attributes like Benji because he doesnt have them to the same extent, but has great vision and team focus..which is why he will contribute more in the long run provided he doesn't get too heavy
