OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

Most of those listed aren't better players, they're just in better teams. Put Luke Garner in a non-top 8 team and his performance reverts to what it was with us plus natural improvement.

Ditto Daine Laurie. Put him in the Dragons and he struggles.
So you do agree - the coach is important?

Beggars cant be choosers. Galvin will decide. Not Wests Tigers. Let get real. Is that okay? A forward? Wally Lewis was twice as big as him and made a living in the backline

Get him a partner and get benji misses to show them a good time. If they get really chummy he’ll get pursuaeded to stay and not by richo

If Galvin asks big coin, I hope Richo and Benji have the guts to let him walk. I don't think we should be killing ourselves with so much money in the halves. Latu has already shown that he can kill it there also and doueihi could be a damn good backup after the performance in the trials.

We can't sign Galvin thinking he'll deliver us a premiership if his cost will be what stops us winning one.

That said, if he signs early for the right money for a 2nd year rookie, then brilliant

latu is a good footballer but he ain't no galvin, if Galvin walks it will be worse for the club than when tedesco left.
the club would need to pay 900k plus for him to extend here, if he does then surely latu fainu asks for a release

Agree about Latu asking for a release. We will know what’s happening by this time next year at the latest.

If Galvin re-signs Latu is out. If Galvin signs elsewhere post 1 Nov 2025 we should trade him for a good player to release him early the club who signed him.

What is better for our club? Galvin or Latu plus $250k of cap space?

If he refuses to go to 2rf and contract situation doesn’t look good, I’d do a sign and trade with chooks. Toia and a 2rf or promising junior for lachie and potentially klem or toa depending on contracts

Depends what you mean by a "Ryan Matterson Situation"
If you mean - A junior half that's not fit for it in the NRL but is still convinced he's a half,
Then there's one of those a lot closer to home.
I mean,

... a half that gets moved to the pack.
Doesn't like it, seeks a release, ends up as a backrower anyway.

He was poor. Not sure why, maybe last year he was the dominate half, this year with Luai playing, he is second fiddle ?

His kicking was poor, didn't for me get involved enough.

Maybe because they haven't got their combinations set as yet, I'm not sure.

Hopefully things will gel sooner rather than later. Newcastle looked sharper around the halfs than our halfs.

Inevitably where it's gonna go.
Dunno how we do this without an injury, but Wld luv to take a peak at late and Luai together.
Not sure whether Benji has the answers...which is where Richo comes into play
