OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

FWIW, I work with a prominent player Agents son (name withheld) and he often shares at high level some intel on clubs…apparently the Eels are not fussed if Brown leaves, they were not convinced by Browns performances last year when. Moses was out injured….they are prepared to throw up to $1.4m a season to lure Galvin to partner Moses for the next 10 years…The Galvin family and his Manager are aware of their intentions

That sounds plausible, but given the belief around Galvin he is going to have more than a couple of options to consider and they will all be favourable.
I understand fully why Parramatta are not sold on throwing the bank at Brown. Naturally talented player but only emerges occasionally. Looks way to comfortable at Parra.

10 years,
Do they know Moses is 30 already?
Sounds likely though.
Weather they're the best fit for him will need to be determined though.

1.4+1.4 in the halves though might stretch them!

Galvin can’t play for another club until 2027, that year Moses will be 33. So Moses is going to play for NRL until he’s 43?

You should email that to Richo

I don’t see Galvin and Mitch as a good pairing
Both are dominant on ball players + Galvin will be close to moving into the forwards in 2-3 years time as he fills out his frame
Any team chasing Galvin will have to factor in his future transition to the forwards

having potentially $2.7 million of your cap tied up in the halves is salary cap suicide. if they are willing to pay that and bend their roster completely out of shape, let them.

Cap will rise significantly after the next Broadcast deal...$1.4m per season will be likes today's $900k.
Yes this figure could be reached when the next deal happens but for the elite player in his prime at mid 20s, Galvan is only 20 this year and is still growing it would be dangerous to offer even 1mill right now.

I have raised this up before jr paying that kind of money only reduces the quality of the rest of the top 30.
Penrith's cap model is what needs to be adopted by WT. identify your core and attribute a percentage of the cap to said core, and fill the rest of the squad with local juniors and solid first graders.

on Galvin, it's extremely hard to determine his value as he's 19 and has only played one season in a poor quality team where he was given the license to roam. the first six weeks of this year is going to go a long way to determining his value.

I think right now he's probably worth $650k, which could rise to potentially $800k depending on how he gels with Jarome. there is no way he's worth seven figures. talk to me when he's been part of a side that's made finals and he's playing regular rep footy.

Crazy deal but not surprising after the brown news.

Not sure we should match that until we know the new cap - vlandys might not get what he thinks. If the cap doesn't change its super high risk.

Yeah its always a fine line. Some players complain about wanting to win premierships, but take up a fair chunk of cap which doesn't allow the roster to be strong around them. Sometimes it's better to accept less to get more in the long run.
