OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

Thats leadership right there, Benji won't go him in the media team mates however fair game.

OK. There's an elephant in this room that needs to be let out.
This is going to sound like sour grapes, and maybe a little of it is . . . but here goes:
Right here, right now, he just ain't as good as he thinks he is.
He ain't nowhere near as good as the media beat him up to be.
He might be in the future, but I once thought I might grow to 6ft tall when I was a kid. Don't even ask how that turned out for me 🤣
He might turn into a good player, but he ain't showing shit in terms of a superstar. Fittler, SBW et al ALL were playing consistent high level at his age and NRL experience.
They weren't slow. Or average defenders. Rarely made the wrong attacking decision. They weren't ball hogs. They didn't piss about wasting tackles by running across the field, or even worse, in circles.
He makes a lot of poor decisions during the game. Sure, he's a kid and he has talent . . . . but that's it.
he won't be in the halves for much longer, so he should really hope he bulks up . . . coz he'll get folded as a ball running lock.
If he does 9 good things during a game, he also does 6 or 7 crap things.
I'm sure Benji has been walking on egg shells so this kid doesn't get offended by having to play second fiddle to JL. You know, the bloke who's just come off 4 comps. I still think that Benji has told JL to hold back, and push it towards LG more.
We all said that Gal overplays his hand. Maybe we were too polite to also say he's a poor defender.
And that he's slow. And that he makes very poor decisions. And he crabs across field. And he's a hog. We might not have readily said that stuff because we were swept up in the gushing and glowing media appraisals of Galvin . . . and we got lulled into thinking we are getting the world's best player.
Well, now that he has shown us exactly what he thinks of our club and it's head coach . . . we don't need to protect his fragile ego any longer.
I see the reality of so many of his flaws . . . sure, they might disappear in 2, 4, 7 years . . . but right here, right now, all I hear is an elephant escaping this room.
💯

I still believe his biggest influence are his parents . If his parents were happy at WTs he wouldn't be going anywhere for this contract at the very least. He would still be only mid twenties and 5 mill+ richer for it. This is not your average offer to a 19 year old most parents would be over the moon. His parents are not taking our calls.

I have no doubt that Moses is acting on behalf of the direction of his parents and Lachy is the pawn - who probably has been fed for the last three years that he is too good for this club - and believes they are acting in his best interests.
You could be right TT......I still wish it could have all waited till at least Nov 1st !

Yeah Turuva’s was juvenile unless Galvin was in his private group & in on the joke. I’m sure Benji will address this anyway privately with the boys tomorrow.

Re. Bullying or mental health card, ok everyone has to be mindful these days but what about Benji’s mental health. Did whoever (and we know who) leaked the ‘coaching is the issue’ reason consider Benji’s mental health? I’m sure Benji has a thick skin but it’s a bit hypocritical IF his management pull out that card.
According to the Australian Human Rights Commission:

It's not bullying unless it's sustained and repeated. Right now, it's some hurt people being a bit mean to someone who's been disrespectful to them and someone they truly care about (Benji) and they feel betrayed. But it does need to stop, so it doesn't become bullying

Yes good post.
To me it’s been obvious for a year now but really encouraged to see so many see it as well.
Lachy is struggling and this will put his development back a couple of years. Given his outspoken nature critiquing others lately, I doubt his new coach and team mates will trust him easily either.
Nope.. part of Lachies contract requires the team he signs with to sit and listen to lachies 7 bullet point plans on what the team and coach will need to do for him to feel welcome and comfortable before he even begins to bless them with his presence on the field .. 😉

If we drop him below KOE we must give him an immediate release if he requests one. This is what was agreed to in the recent negotiations. The RLPA pushed for this to protect players in this situation. So if we drop Galvin below KOE he will get an immediate release which is exactly what he and his manager want. We would end up with nothing except for a bit of salary cap space.
Looks like it's #18 in KOE then

I'm 💯 the opposite.

This is entirely the influence of the Manager.

Ruthless and all about His longterm goals.

I feel that Lachie is from a good family and they have been influenced by wolves.

Going by the way senior players have been so vocal with 3 now publically criticizing Galvin, I think the team has been off him for a while.

Players never dis players even at other clubs let alone players at their own club and never publically.

For a 19 to kid to be trashing the coach, senior players and his manager to take a 7 point grievances list to the CEO is ludicrous.

I suspect he has been pretty free and easy with his views in the dressing room and his overinflated ego.

The chickens are coming home to roost and I for one am proud to see the team call galvins shit out. Stand by the coach, CEO and club and the culture they are building 🐯🐯🐯
I've never seen this before. Not even when Woods left. We, the fans, crapped all over him, but not the players. This is definitely something else.

Galvin is going to need a few great games in the top grade this year
If he spends a few weeks in Ressies its like
" out of sight out of mind " and potential value drops
So at some point he might need to kiss and make up so when we have injuries he gets another chance in top grade and if he dazzles in those games he promotes his value back up again .
What I don't want under any condition is that he plays against us in 2025
Why would we do that if AD does a good job until Fainu comes back . And we all know the talent Fainu is . It’s almost 2 years until 2027 kick off date . Remember when AD got injured ?
Prior to that he was the golden boy , then when he came back last year everyone was like Adam who ? Totally forgetting how nearly everyone was pumping his tyres before he got injured . The fall was soo bad really , he didn’t get any real offers from other clubs . I’m not saying Galvin will fall that badly . But man he’d be praying that we don’t win footy games, as if we do and look even better doing it , a lot of people will look at. Him the same way they looked at Hastings . He was just a ball hog . Value —- meet toilet .

I’m hearing Lachie is in line to replace Ryles. He will become the NRLs first captain-coach since Wally Lewis 33 years ago 👍
