OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

I want to know in which universe does anyone get to tell their employer “don’t bother with a contract” and btw here are a list of reasons why my leader doesn’t do it for me and then stands in front of his colleagues and say “you do you and I’ll do me” and expect no consequences. Is this an episode of Seinfeld?

Based on what has surfaced to date any reporter who is writing the tigers did something wrong is victim blaming. And by publishing the headlines and stories, they are only adding fuel to the mental pressure the kid maybe going through. If moses didn’t give his client the heads up that this would play out in the media and heap pressure on him and his family, then he has also contributed to or even caused the kids mental anguish. You could even add that Gould played his part as well, by over praising the kid he created a false sense of worth.

Having said all of that I love this solidarity in the team and truely hope the kid is ok. His enablers should be ashamed.
Imagine the media babying of a 19 year old occurring in any other professional workplace??

FFS - just because Lachlan is remarkably immature and evidently poorly advised by his dubious 'brains trust' does not make him a victim!!

You turn 18 - you are legally an adult with the legal rights - responsibilities and expectations that come with adulthood!

His vicarious stage parents have a lot to answer for in regards to the stunted personal development and lack of character from this pathetic ignorant punk!!

I wonder if Galvin actually said this? "You do you and I'll do me." If it is accurate, what better way to antagonise a group of team players?

Not necessarily dude . If we have the cap , then it’s just about getting that number under the cap. Not to mention it’s halfway through the year , so 500k cap room is a 1 mil dollar player .
Only works if we never deal with Isaac Moses again. Otherwise he will know he can get away with doing this rubbish to us constantly. If we dig our heels In now and make Galvin stay, he will learn the old tricks won't work anymore.

Braith on 360 the last 2 days has been outstanding and can tell he doesn't like Moses. He knows exactly what Moses is trying to do and glad he has the balls to call it.

I think the reason he wants to leave is clutching at straws and now they chose this path / LIE they have to continue with it and they are being called out for it.

We must beat Eels on Monday now to really rub salt in

I think Mitch Moses needs galvin now that brown is out the door, it's a little to convenient that this has all come to head now since the brown deal.
And if Moses wants to win a premiership befor he retires he will need to keep him onside.
Yep this about Moses looking after his family . Playing the Galvins like a fiddle to achieve it , and leveraging their love for the eels to do it . Surround the kid with “help” who are people with an axe to grind about the club , and bang you’re manipulating the kid , and getting him to formulate his decisions .

In which universe has a 19 year old ever felt the need to not consider a 6mill contract before he was allowed to field other offers?
Perhaps the NRL and RPLA should be directing questions around that then they may understand why people are over this shit six games into a season.
Players know it coach knows it Richo knows it and even drop kick Benny Elias know it
As Braith and Gordy Tallis stated last night, what 19 year old kid keeps a dossier on the coaching issues that will prevent him developing as a player ?
He’s gone from an 18y.o kid that had never stepped on a rugby league field playing with and against men to becoming a million dollar per season NRL player within 12 month, yet he’s not developing ?
Give us a break.
Maybe the RLPA should have a word to him about using common sense and making sure his spokesperson being his manager thinks before he speaks.

Maybe ! It will come down to the eels really . If we put 50 on them on Monday , with Galvin in lidcombe , it really puts them in a huge bind . I reckon they’d even subsidise brown to move on , to get Lachlan . And I’d want Penisini or Lomax in return . Nothing else . Maybe Hopgood.

Iv never wished I'll on anyone, but watching Benny Elias on 360, I came really close. Wow he is filth.
Gauge the reaction on this forum and no doubt other RL forums to Benny's appearance. He isn't the face you want front and centre on your campaign. This media blitz indicates matters are not going as well as expected for Galvin's mgmt. Keeping Galvin as depth for Luai and Fainu would be a disastrous outcome for them.

I agree with the principle as to what you are saying, but I think your missing my point.

It's a game of chess. We are giving away a pawn to trap the queen. 1 week out for Turuva to ensure we keep Galvin as a bargaining chip for a better player.

We MUST punish Turuva for the greater good of the team.

Not because we think it's right, not because Turuva is worse than Galvin, but because the risk is that Moses and his mate Clint Newton at the RLPA use that agaisnt the club to get Galvin out of the club ---- the tigers then lose our power to get a player trade.

It's about perception. Tick the box and let Turuva know on the side why. It's not a big deal in the scheme of things if we get a potential state of origin level player in return.

Again, it's not a decision I agree with in principle, but it's a sacrifice we must make to continue to hold the power in this situation.

If we don't think like this, we will lose.

Moses plays chess not checkers. As they say dont bring a knife to a gun fight.
It’s a sure fire way to get Turuva offside though. We shouldn’t make a scape goat out of the guy particularly when he’s got our clubs interests at heart.

At the end of the day he posted it to a small group of friends and it got leaked.

Moses would have played the mental health card regardless. We all know how that corrupt grub operates and he’s been briefing media for months on this.

No point punishing a player for having the clubs back. It’s only going to result in a player revolt in that instance.

I totally get that, my point is though maybe it's just better for us in the long term to make him see out his contract, otherwise we will be right in this spot again with Moses and another player because he knows how to play us like a fiddle. But if we don't back down after all the manipulation and pressure, he won't play his games again cause he will know they won't work. If we never deal with him or his agency again great get the best we can for the clown while he's hot property.

I do understand your point - but player swaps don't and can't happen without the agreement of both players to $$ and terms etc - so any notion of that occurring in a short tineframe is extremely unrealistic.

And I am sure we both would agree that a transfer fee would not be adequate compensation - so any release in the short-medium term would be counter-productive to the strong stance we've taken.

Latu Fainu has declared himself ready to step into Lachlan Galvin’s No.6 jersey, believing coach Benji Marshall’s guidance will help fulfil his ambition of becoming Jarome Luai’s long-time halves partner.

Galvin’s future at the club has become clouded after his decision not to entertain a lucrative contract extension in the belief Marshall couldn’t take his game to the next level. At the urging of senior players, Marshall dropped Galvin to NSW Cup.

Phil Gould has labelled the situation “untenable” and predicts there is no way Galvin will see out the remainder of his Tigers contract, which expires at the end of 2026.

Whether Galvin moves on now or later, Fainu is considered the playmaker most likely to fill the void. Currently unavailable due to a hand injury that will likely sideline him for a further three weeks, Fainu has made 11 NRL appearances to date, predominantly off the bench.

However, the 19-year-old believes he is ready to play alongside Luai and make the No.6 jersey his own.

“100 per cent. If [Galvin] is not there, I’m ready,” Fainu said. “I’m willing to do whatever it takes to make this team better. For me, if it means getting that six role, I’m all in.

“When I first came to Wests Tigers, they brought me to play in the halves. That’s all I’ve ever wanted to do. That’s the position I’ve been playing my whole career, since I started playing footy. I feel most comfortable there, I feel I can add more value to the team as a half.

“Whatever the team needs, I’m all in. I love the club.”

While Galvin says he can’t play his best football under Marshall, Fainu believes the former premiership-winning pivot is the perfect person to guide his career.

“Obviously, he has helped me so much on and off the field,” Fainu said of Marshall.

“He was a great player and is a great coach for me. He makes me comfortable in the side and makes me play my best.

“Honestly, when he joins our sessions, I just watch him. When he trains, you get a feel for the mix of how he wants to play and how I want to play. I just want to play like him.

“He knows what is best for me as a player. He has given me and my brothers a debut in the NRL. I’m truly grateful to have him as my coach.”

Like Galvin, Fainu was dubbed as the next big thing while coming through the junior ranks. In late 2021, when he was still 16 and at Manly, Fainu signed the biggest contract ever for a player yet to reach NRL level.

When he switched to the Tigers, where he played alongside Galvin in the lower grades, it was Fainu who wore the coveted No.6 jersey.

“He was playing at fullback and then switched to second row when he was playing with me,” Fainu recalled.

The Guilford product said he was keen to play as much football alongside four-time premiership-winning playmaker Luai as possible.

“He’s a great role model, especially for me as a half,” the Tongan international said of Luai. “He knows what he’s doing in on-field situations, but off field he knows what to bring with the culture of the team. He’s just a great person to be around.

“I’m trying to learn as much as I can off him. As much as I want to play this week, I know that I’m injured.

“In talking to Jarome Luai, he’s keeping me up to date and encourages me to take control and play halves with him.”

Fainu said the prospect of playing behind a pack that included Terrell May, Fonua Pole, Alex Twal and Royce Hunt was an exciting one.

“100 per cent, they make our jobs easier,” he said.

“They get to our spots quicker, it makes it so much easier for all of our spine, especially me, Api [Koroisau], Jarome and Jahream [Bula].”

Fainu has already achieved his ambition of playing alongside his brothers Sione and Samuela - who are in the side for the Easter Monday clash against Parramatta - at the Tigers. Now he hopes they get to add to the tally.

“That’s the only thing we want for each other, to play first grade,” he said.

“To continue to play first grade at Tigers, that would be a dream come true.

“It means a lot, they are the only team that trusted us to all play together at the same club.”
Galvin never once spoke with enthusiasm regarding the club, team mates or fans.
Latu shows true appreciation of his opportunity.
Latu should be given every chance to become the long term 6.
The way Latu plays will straighten up the attack beautifully.
Watching Galvin run sideways across the field looking for a gap to shoot thru himself ball hogging works well in juniors and yes there is some chance it will work in first grade but it's not the style that should be promoted or encouraged in a first grade outfit.
The pain and disappointment of Galvin will long be forgotten if Latu becomes even half the player he has been predicted to become.

Good onya back door Benny, what is this deadshit saying he's supposed to be in the Tigers corner instead blaming the club for the situation at the moment.
Parra are favs to get him for sure to play next to his relation M Moses, just can't believe the rubbish that's coming out of his mouth, neither does Braith, piss off back under your rock Benny.
