Lachlan Galvin’s stoush with the Wests Tigers has dramatically escalated after it emerged his management had sent the Wests Tigers a legal letter alleging their client has been bullied and not provided with a safe work environment.
Coach Benji Marshall addressed claims of bullying at a press conference last Thursday after teammates used social media to comment on Galvin’s decision not to re-sign with the club beyond 2026.
Marshall defended the players for having an emotional reaction to losing Galvin.
“I don’t think he’s been bullied by the other players,” he said.
“Emotional responses to things happening might seem like it, but there’s been no sense of bullying at our club, and we don’t stand for bullying.
“I talked about it with the team this morning, and that’s not us. We’re not bullies, our players are not bullies.
“They had an emotional reaction to one of their teammates, but it’s not bullying. I can guarantee that.”
