OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

That's a cool theory, but here's the truth....

Group 1:
Burton, Capwell, Pangai Jr , Naden, Kikau, Korosau, Hopgood, Staines, Jennings, Osullivan, Critta, Spencer, Hosking, Cogger, Salmon , Fisher Harris, Luai, Turuva, Iongi

Group 2:
Galvin

Out of the 19 panthers players leaving, I dont recall hearing anything about any one of those players having negative things to say about the club or playing group.

Galvin did.

Where's my proof?

Someone I grew up playing footy with who played NRL with a current tigers player, informed me that Galvin was a fkn jerk and basically called the playing group shit to their faces. This isnt someone I can message daily for updates, or i become "that guy".... but I got the info at the time when it happened.

Why the fk do you think Terrell May told him to stfu and sit down? These guys play for money. It was never about Galvin just leaving for money, its the way he did it and throwing shit at his team mates and club on the way out.

No, it's not in the media. But it was the message passed on from a senior player, to a former player, to me.

I am led to believe that this caused a rift between Galvin and TDS for a short period of time.

Why do you think that Luai had said that Galvin had to "earn our respect" or whatever the exact quote was, when asked about him returning to the NRL? That comment isn't about money, never was. The only money banter was from Tito, which was meant to be funny taking the piss to a group of his mates... but this has just distracted everyone from the truth of it all.

You can argue with me till you are blue in the face, but this sh1t went down.

And anyone that has played a team sport will understand that if you do this as an indiviudal against your team - then shit is going to hit the fan.

Richo and Benji protected Galvin (they do have the kids best interest at heart) and themselves from Moses camp with their legal action by playing him the following few weeks.

Tucker, I've revealed where I got my info from. So if you can come to terms with this, I might actually give you another chance.
Well thats not really a source is it? Its third hand unverifiable info. However im sure theres elements of truth to it.
This is also the first time youve presented this info so colour me sceptical for looking at it side eyed.
Ive played team sport for decades. I also work in large teams full of wild bastards.
I find it very hard to believe that a skinny 19yr old kid stood in front of a group of alpha males and told them to their face that they were shit. That may have been their interpretation, but Im sure it didnt go down like you just said it did.
My proof?
Purely anecdotal, but Benji and Richo have given no indication this occurred, to the point that he has played in 4 of the 5 games weve taken the field in since this supposed incident. Its hard to believe there wasnt a mutiny after he called these guys all shit to their faces. Additionally, they were all hugging each other on the field when we beat Cronulla and Saints like there was no bad blood, certainly not to the point it should have been. If someone called me shit to my face in front of everyone, I dont forgive it that quickly.
I read somewhere that during his piss poor speech to the squad at training, he said "you do you. Ill do me". Horribly worded and uncalled for, but not the same as saying they are shit. Moreso, "im going a different path'. Likewise, I think him saying "I just feel that as I move into an important period of my development as a half, that I continue to build my game at a different club" isnt the same as him saying Benji is shit. For all we know, he was told that Latu was the future 6 and his path leads to the backrow at this club - which has been reported before, and he doesnt want to play there.

how can you dismiss information that is specific to a situation ,because of its hearsay nature , yet justify your dismissal of that information , with anecdotal evidence from something completely not related at all . It makes zero logical sense !

The situation with Galvin is vastly different and the managers involvement inflamed the situation with fans that were philosophical about him not taking up the offer but were then filthy about the tactics used to get him out of honouring his contract.
Dont think any of Penrith players agitated for early release by making bullying accusations.
Excatly my point. I dont know why some of you think Im blaming the club in isolation. That isnt true at all.
Professionalism has not existed in this whole saga. The player and his manager have been snakes. The club have been overly emotional. The fans have been ridiculous.
The only person who can hold their head up high in all of this is Benji. He is the only one who has been rational, considered and shown leadership qualities.
I remain sceptical on his head coaching ability at this level, but theres no doubt he is a hell of a man manager and an asset. If there was a Head of Football role re-established, he would be a great candidate for it.

No. I employ management strategies to work through the issue.
I once had 2 operators punchon in the site shed and were kicked off site by the primary contractor. Ive also had an employee attack a primary contractor union rep at a pub out of hours.
Both instances caused a tonne of havoc and threatened current and furture contracts.
I sorted it out.
IS Richo not doing the same, by letting Galvin go early? He is sorting it out

I mentioned this source when this all unfolded, maybe you missed it. It'll somewhere in this thread.

I paraphrased, he "basically called them shit to their faces"... Everyone knows Terrell put him in his place and everyone fired up.. we all know it was heated .

They tried to make it work and it was untenable.

I'm on the floor laughing. YOU settle disputes? Hahahaha you literally cause them for fun and have no clue how to settle something amicably. You know what? if some moron is paying you to do that then full credit to you mate, I have to give you props for that one. That's like paying Putin to be world peacemaker
You just keep believing that champ.
You have zero idea what you are talking about.

You might right. But it’s grain of salt stuff. One of those “You can’t believe everything you read on internet” type things.

Its the paraphrasing that I question.
Im not saying you or your mate are lying/ exagerating. Not at all.
Emotion alters the facts as people focus on the bit they want to hear.
Like I said, it was reported or said somewhere that his speech to the group was absolute garbage. Have you heard the kid talk? Didnt spend a lot of time in school....
It didnt appear untenable when they played against Sharks. That was a committed effort and they were all very excited that they won.
Interviews after that game:

The bandaid was never tenable long term.

It was always going to rear it's ugly head again.

Im sure thats true.
I gained hope when I saw them play against Sharkies.
It seemed everything had settled down and they had found a way forward.
That stupid dossier and the legal letter warning made sure this wouldnt last long term, but I actually thought they may get through to September.
Anyway...we move on.
