OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

Apparently Sexton's stats for line breaks & try assists aren't too good this season - but his defence is solid. Doggies are hoping Galvin will provide some extra spark in attack. He certainly won't bring any (consistent) additional defence.... They've given Galvin a huge responsibility & we shall now see what he can make of it.
The thing with stats is they can be manipulated to tell the story you want... I saw someone mention that if you were picking teams on stats that Stephen Crichton wouldn't be playing, because his stats are sh1t... And there's also stats they aren't looking at with Galvin either, because they don't paint a pretty picture...

The stat to look at will be wins with Galvin at 7 vs Sexton at 7... Galvins never played there in his life..

Galvin at 7 and Sexton dropped. Are they insane??? Anyone been on the Kennel, should make for some interesting reading with lots of expletive deletives 😂
They are ropable. One fan put it very succinctly..”the purpose of Galvin was to invest in the future, not screw the present.”
I thought Ciraldo and Gus were smarter than this so the only conclusion one can draw is that perhaps the pressure is coming from a powerful stakeholder making demands on the dogs to uphold some kind of quid pro quo agreement?

Fans are not always the best judges when it comes to selections.
Tough call on Sexton but not sure that they lose much by selecting Galvin. There is no way they would put him in a position that they think he couldn't handle. Whether he is more effective than Sexton remains to be seen but I think at this point they would be happy for him to just do his job - they don't need him to star.

Is it OK if I wish nothing but bad luck to Galvin? I mean I'm not religious ,but will this kill off any chance of going to heaven (if it really exists)? Just asking......
You are going to Heaven as a Tigers supporter as we have all paid for our sins just following this club.

If wishing bad luck on ex Tigers players like Moses or Galvin stops you going into Heaven then at the very least you will have a few Tigers supporters with you in Hell.......

Their argument on 360 last night was could galvin or sexton win a clive churchill medal....they seem to think Lloyd could but Toby couldnt

quite a big risk they've taken

if Dogs go on to get into the prelims this year and GF next year, their risk would've paid off IMO

The Dogs have such a strong core. Their defence is so switched on, all players get behind the ball, they keep their feet moving in defence. I love seeing the long shot of their D. You see them all move like a wave moving obliquely towards the ball. When there is an offload, a line break, a quick PTB etc, they are so fit that they retreat to their formation very quickly.

Galvin isn't enough to destabilise that. I feel the system of D is relian on Preston, Kikau and Critta.

If you put enough kick pressure on Burton, you can mess with their system though. Galvin's kicking game is still a year or two from developing if it ever does.

How is making the prelims a success when they were ladder leaders halfway through the season?

Braith Anasta summed it up well, sometimes you can look too far into the future... But the dogs have a premiership window in 2025...

Anything but making the GF this year is a failure for the dogs...

Sexton 2025 Bulldogs win rate 75%
Galvin 2025 Bulldogs win rate 50%

That's the main stat they should be thinking about.

Bulldogs only have 4 losses all year, Galvin played in 2 and all of them came in the period after Galvin announced he was leaving Tigers and the innuendo started around Bulldogs.

So imagine no surprise at all if Sexton's mental state is affected if, after 6W 0L, club hires his replacement and tell him to go find a deal somewhere else.

I don't think they lose much if at all by playing Galvin it's just a shi*""y thing to do Sexton which no one will care about in a couple of weeks time if they can continue to win
If they start losing the coach will have to wear it.

I expect Sextons form to drop off rapidly the mental anguish will way him down

His dream of winning a NRL premiership as a number 7 since he was a kid is basically gone given to someone who has not earnt it

I know we're enjoying Galvin not going well but we have well and truly proven how valuable he is by our absolutely abysmal form since he left. He's obviously struggling at a new club but it's obvious he was pivotal to us. Again, I wish that were not the case and we could prove how we're better off without him. Unfortunately that's not the case.

Maybe we can show something at the back end of our season and prove it otherwise, but I bet he's looking back at our club feeling nothing but relief that he's not a part of this developing train wreck. Sorry to be so negative. But losing and gloating doesn't really work.
