OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

Just on Brandys biased commentary glad it wasnt just me that thought he was OTT.
This bloke used to be a good rational and fair commentator, i used to like him doing games and on radio...hes gone 180 into a bit of an irrational raving loony
A few like him, I used to like listening to Ennis and cronk...they are crap now. Also i wonder if matty Johns regrets that peice he did when he talked Galvin up like he would be made an immortal at the end of the season.

Brandys commentary last night was atrocious, if that was latu playing like Galvin did he would have been very critical of him (deservedly so). It just seems that both fox and 9 are glazing Galvin....perhaps they are secretly looking to sabotage Gus and the dogs by convincing them that Galvin should stay in firsts.
Maybe they want to poach him like Gus did 😂😂😂

I used to enjoy listening to Cronk and his analysis as it was detailed and insightful.
Recently I have noticed he has started to mince his words and sound a little confused at times and is now spewing out really basic observations and attempting to mask them with big words.

I came into this thread expecting there to be some comments on Brandy’s commentary over Galvin.

It’s laughable how biased he was to try protect the kid from any backlash, he played terrible both defensively and offensively. He made bad defensive reads one that led to a try, he made errors with the ball in his hands and had some poor last tackle options throughout the game.

Don’t be a flop Brandy - call it like you see it given it’s your job.

Only time Dogs looked alive was when they had Reed on and he’s out the door. Sad to see how they’re going out but also enjoyable.

No one has a crystal ball so we don’t know what heights Galvin’s career will reach but as it stands today he would not even get near Strange’s shadow. The media built the hype up so far above what he offered in reality and it seems a lot will not let go.

Being an elite footballer, especially in the halves you need speed, top notch kicking game and a strong defensive technique, Galvin is middle of the road in those attributes. I think he does have football IQ but the days of a ball playing half like Hastings is gone.

Anyway Iam so glad we did not throw a a squillion at him. I also think the whole saga was probably the turning point for us as it got the whole club focused and unified

Yeah, he is really on the slide.

Once upon a time I enjoyed some of his analysis but in more recent times he just seems to come out with some really basic shit that is tarted up with language designed to make him sound intelligent.

In more recent times his analysis and so called expert opinion is starting to slip down to the level of Greg Alexander who has really hit an all time low.

I think he played slightly better than what he served up against the Roosters. His stats against the Roosters were poor - one run all game was the telling tale and their attack was very disjointed.
Obviously under instruction this week, he took the line on 15x albeit ineffectively. The other thing he did was dig into the line more before passing, meaning he straightened the attack a bit more and gave his outside men more time.
He still has a natural tendency to crab across the field looking for a lazy defender but that is easy to read. Kicking game was poor to average. Personally, I think Ciraldo is losing patience as we get to the business end of the season.

Katoa, Halasima, Strange, Toia, McClean were the top 5 Joey said.

You could also throw in Jaxon Purdue, Toby Couchman (maybe his brother as well), Keaono Kini and Fletcher Sharpe who are well and truly all above Galvin. Then a few others you could debate like Talagi etc.

Was it Brandy who ripped brooks to shreds? Thought that comment was incredibly unprofessional from a rugby league commentator. Maybe the higher ups spoke to him hence the positive spin on Galvin
Ok so what did Brandy say?
I turn the commentary down, and tbh didn’t pay much attention to it either, but there’s been a few posts mentioning it?
Was there a comparison to Dan Mortimer?

None of them are on anywhere near $800k....Gus is a genius.

Their spine is cooked. Burton and Galvin are creating nothing. Before Galvin got there, Preston was one of the form back rowers in the comp. He’s been obsolete lately. Mahoney for all his faults, had much better service and was more of a threat than Hayward who is a lock. They’ve completely self sabotaged themselves. Would have been one thing if they’d started a new season like this, and there were teething problems. Instead they did it when they were on top of the ladder, gearing up for a tilt at a premiership.. Certainly has exposed Ciraldo. I get Gus foisted this interloper on him, but Ciraldo could have still integrated him into the team in a much less disruptive manner.
