OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

Not up to it.

But my main gripe is - all this BS media hype about how good a coach Ciraldo is, when he's persisted with a Burton/Galvin combo for months now and Bulldogs have been on the decline.

Mid-match he's forced to recall Sexton and push Burton to centres - and suddenly Bulldogs are a real and constant threat. Galvout being a passenger and Sexton instead the one asking questions of the defence.
I'll just requote myself here: interesting yesterday that Ciraldo did reshuffle the Dogs lineup to match the back end of last week - Burton to centres, Sexton to start, Mahoney to start.

EXCEPT unlike last week where the whole Dogs spine became involved, 99% of traffic went through Galvin from the kickoff, either as a short ball to Preston or a wider pass to Tracey. No idea why Galvout waited 60 minutes to throw another short ball to Preston, after that first try - it was 40-8 at that point.

It's too predictable at this level, at this time of year. You can't have just one guy running all the plays and kicking, the opposition know exactly where to expect the attack.

Eventually it yielded 26 pts for the Dogs but Penrith had half put the queue in the rack, including moving Garner to centre and taking off Maclean as a precaution.

Atrocious kicking game as well.

The issue, as others have identified, is for every sublime pass, Galvout throws 1-2 shockers over the sideline, like Benji at his worst. But unlike Benji, Galvout is too slow and not agile to threaten much with his running game. His runs are more "tuck under the arm" type last-resorts when the play has broken down.

Just spent an amusing half hour on The Kennel. I'm not 100% sure, but I think Lachie isn't as brave as Ciraldo thinks. The newfound hate, and the reality that Galvin isn't the promised one, makes for a hilarious read. 6 weeks ago, Lachie this, Lachie that, Wests are a shit club, Lachie is gonna put the icing on our cake, yada yada yada.
Is it childish to take joy in someone else's misery ? Probably.
Is it shadenfraude ? could be.
Is that how you even spell shadenfraude ? probably not.
Galvin essentially undermined 2 team's seasons.
We know, the doggies fans now know, even some of the media know. Gus is a fraud, and Galvin ain't brave.

Have listened to a few nrl pundits now coming out and saying that richos so called $1m + per season offer for Galvin was all smoke and mirrors trying to show the WT supporters that he had a real crack at keeping him. The reality is they never actually tabled an offer to Galvin because his manager said they are not even going to look at an offer.

Man I heard that’s the case when it happened and repeated it on here . A lot of tigers fans are no dopes , and many knew that the retention of Galvin lead to Conti and the Large brothers leaving , so for many , nothing short of an exorbitant offer would do . Smoke and mirrors .
I also heard that’s Gus, much like most of the nrl, valued the Fainus far more than Galvin , and that the praise for Galvin was to do with us screwing up and giving him our cap so he could swoop for the Fainu boys .
Congratulations …. You played yourself !
Especially when it’s been 💯 confirmed that Richo was notified in Jan/ fab of Gus having secret meetings with the Galvins and the eels , doing their usual shady shit and trying to pry him loose .

It was a suspicion I had at the time from reading between the lines and the way it was all handled ( I posted my thoughts on here back then)...i.e. why did Richo make it public and why was he so abrupt...because he knew the horse had bolted and he wanted to bring things to a head. The one person I genuinely believe thought he could convince Galvin to stay was Benji, either that or the guy is a ridiculously good actor or what's more likely is he was trying to save some of the other boys that he knew were close to Galvin, by talking him up and talking up his future if he stays, so it did look like it was Galvin as the villain and probably the reason Moses pulled the secret dossier card to discredit Benji. All I know is from all angles it looked like an untenable situation and Galvin was out the door well before richo made the offer that was never an offer. So, unless Richo is a complete dope, which I don't think he is, then that offer was not completely legit and just a face-saving activity.

On the eels . . . . could you imagine the explosions if Galvin was being Galvin in Mitch Moses's team ?
FMD, the on-ground expletives would have scared the Fox out of Foxtel !
And there'd be no diplomatic immunity that he seems to have at the dogs. Moses would have torn him a new one, and Ryles doesn't seem the type of bloke to accept that level of mediocrity.
Although, it will be an interesting off season for the dogs, most of their fans have gone real cold on the greatest player Gus has ever seen. Hayward is in the same hype basket as Lokky.

Galvin will probably cut out a long career and make a lot more money than players who are a lot better than him. He is very fortunate that we gave him a stage to perform on way before he should have and the media embraced him as if he was a kid with once in a generation talent.

He is super fit and has football smarts, on the negative side he is slow and his kicking game is average at best. He is not a half and certainly doesn’t have the body yet for a forward. I think he should have done a year or so in the lower grades and that would have mage him a better footballer and person in the long run.

I don’t know what he is costing the Dogs but they may have to show a ton of patience waiting to see a return on their investment

Galvin should have gone to the eels as Moses would have made him look good. Okay he may have copped a few sprays, but he would have had zero responsibility for the running of the team and no kicking duties. He would have been a very highly paid catch and pass player

Very true statement

But you left out poor pass selection, does not read what is in front of him,not a very good communicator.

I can move on from Galvin now after they bombed yesterday and getting the win against them a few weeks ago. I don’t care about them next year. I do enjoy watching Parra get belted though. Unfortunately I think they are headed for better things next year. As long as we can beat them I’m happy.
Yeah I agree, I move on now. The Tigers won 2025 (despite not making finals). We beat the dogs convincingly, gave their fans the khod, Richo forced the dogs to go for Galvin early which derailed their season and they went out in straight sets after having 36 points put on them in one half. We won two grand finals this year 😂😂

Galvin had a really mixed game. I thought he was woeful in that first half with the exception of the short ball and the try.

He is an awful defender and Panthers tore that right side defence to shreds.

As much as I hate the grub though it’s hard to say he played poorly this game. He looked dangerous with Preston in the second half but still some stupid passes and errors from him.

Suspect Panthers clocked off second half as well so it’s a really hard game to judge.

In any case glad the dogs lost and hoping this puts a stack of pressure on Gould and the Dogs over the offseason.

I still don't know if I have even forgiven Glenn Morisson.
Ah a fellow hater.Yes Morrison just like Woods was a captain of the club, which made it mutiny and as such should have been dealt with and made to walk the plank. Moses on the other hand was a complete and total <u#tef*
