OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

I think Galvin played better under Benji than Ciraldo, though surely he will play 5/8th next year and have a better year.

I am guessing young Mitchell Woods will play seven and Burton maybe (an expensive) centre and Dogs will probably want to buy a hooker in the off season.

I still think Galvin would have been more suited to play with Moses at Eels in 2026.

Not if they don't have an organising and kicking 7

Just like us?
They are banking on Mitch Woods, however he is still quite inexperienced and has not played a single game of first grade. At least we have AD and Latu, whilst Latu has mainly been a 6 he has shown some potential at 7, and his kicking in the last few games of the year was not bad. He has also had some good experience in first grade.

Galvin should have gone to the eels as Moses would have made him look good. Okay he may have copped a few sprays, but he would have had zero responsibility for the running of the team and no kicking duties. He would have been a very highly paid catch and pass player
Nah don’t think would have been worked , from what I seen he likes to be the main . He was wearing the 6 but all the ball was going to him , I don’t think he can play or likes to play a secondary role

Feel sorry for Mitch woods next year if he has to partner Galvin as Galvin will hog it and woods will take the blame as halfback for the results

Great post, everything is starting to make sense now. I remember either end of last year or start of this year someone at a game said Galvin got overcalled a few times (and this would have been with Sezer or Luai at 7) and he looked quite annoyed by it or something. I initially dismissed this as just a kid being eager and whatever. Then there are reports he is disgruntled with the Luai signing because it means he will have to play second fiddle to him which also seemed strange, but now looking at how he played the first trial game being the "star" of the team and he just would not let Latu get the ball and all these previous instances I genuinely believe this kid reckons he should be the main man.

At the bulldogs he's easily been the more dominant half although he realistically should be when playing halfback but even on the weekend at 6 he touched the ball 16 more times than Sexton which also seems weird as when watching the first half I hardly saw him. I could probably look more in depth throughout the whole season to see how it stacks up, but generally seems like this would be the trend.

If he went to the Eels he would have gone really well under Mitch Moses I believe as he is a five-eighth/future lock maybe but certainly not a halfback and the eels seem to be building a decent squad (but heavily carried by Moses), but I think he might have knocked that back because he would be second-fiddle.

Gonna be really interesting if they try persist with this guy at halfback into the future and even if they get a real halfback whether that actually means anything if he's just going to overcall the whole time.

My bet is burton will leave the dogs when his contract is up.
Galvin will play halves again next year but he’ll have to play reasonably well or the dogs fans will be out for blood

O'Sullivan from the Dolphins is going to the dogs in 26 so he mite get a game at 7
That is such an astute signing from the Dogs. Everything I hear about O'Sullivan is he is pretty much the best halves coach in the world and is able to coach young up and comers whilst playing alongside them. To have him in the system tutoring Woods and Galvin is a big win for the Dogs.

I would like to see a pole with bulldogs supporters on who they preferred to be there 5/8 next year.

I know I would prefer Burton.

Now they are mentioning Crichton to fullback next year.

Can’t remember one player causing so much disruption to a teams starting side 🤦

Canterbury coach should be copping a lot more of the blame on how they finished the year.

Team harmony lost, didn’t rest players leading into semi finals.

You clearly didn’t watch him playing junior reps for Wests, starring for Westfields or captaining the Australian Schoolboys 🤷‍♂️
No, I dont have the time to be watching NRL + KOE + Jersey Flegg + Harrold Matt's + Schoolboy football..

However, my statement remains true when it comes to his performances in the NRL as of today's date He looked good in a dogs side that was playing like crap... He looked good in a tigers side who won the spoon.. He hasn't looked good playing to structure for the bulldogs AT ALL.. It isn't to say he won't one day... But based on his NRL games so far, it's a fair assessment (basing this on actual performances and not potential).

The only ones I've heard this week talk about Gould and Ciraldo making a mistake is braith/Gordy + horro on levels... Mason didn't argue against it which I take as an indicator that he knows it impacted them - but couldn't say anything given his ties to the club ..

It would have been good if smith/Gallen pushed Gould more .
