Is a halves pairing of Burton/woods , Burton/osullivan . All this movement is because the bears have offered Burton 1.1m to be thier franchise player . He’s 5 times the player Galvin is . An if they move Galvin to lock . He needs to hit the gym to play in the middle . Anyways …

They’ve gone all in on Galvin in the halves. I don’t see them taking him out of there. Just enjoy the next few months, because if they slide, he will cop the the brunt of it. Not just cos he’s the 7, but also because he’s the guy they ripped their team apart to bring in. Couldn’t happen to a nicer kid.

I dont follow Galvin or the Dogs so im not across the situation there. But one thing that stood out particularly in what I saw of that game yesterday. When ever he made an error which was often, he didnt get the usual rallying support from team mates converging on him.

Richo offered him a million dollars. I don’t think he was playing three dimensional chess. As far as more changes at the Dogs go, I cannot see Burton staying. If he’s being offered big money by the Bears, I’d say he takes it. And the Bears halves will be him and Sexton. How ironic.

He’s a one trick pony. All he has his the short ball to Preston. It’s a good trick, but still the only one he has.

When he played for us, I always thought he was still trying to play school boy football in the way he crabbed across the field looking for lazy defenders. When that didn’t work, he became increasingly frantic and tried miracle plays.
Many young halves have elite off the mark speed that sees them dominate school boy grades. That is there go to and they develop game management over time. Galvin doesn’t possess this and his game is easily read by defences. Yes his fitness is amazing, but that’s only going to get you on the ball a lot which he does.
Not sure what happens to him. He is clearly not a 7. Maybe a 13? Perhaps a 6? I think he could be a decent fullback? Not elite but more your high energy, takes hit ups and occasionally injects himself when he sees an opportunity (bit like Connor Tracey).

I dunno man .. maybe originally .. but the way it went down , with Richo 💯 being told about the meeting that definitely didn’t happen in January , it makes me wonder . At the very least he called thier bluff with a big offer . I’m glad it didn’t happen now , but yea . Anyways we’ve got depth and guys who want to be here Z for the first time in a long time .

I watched a lot of the the Knights v Dogs, physically Knights absolutely belted them. The hit on Galvin was rare, not often a half gets so isolated like that. Bang!

Lachlan Galvin is honestly one of the most bizarre cases in rugby league. I have never seen such media hype for a young player. Maybe Latrell Mitchell when he was at the Roosters. But this guy?

Like yeah, he is talented, but the way the media spoke about him, it was like he was the second coming of Andrew Johns. I'll never forget the hype piece Matty Johns did on him. Genuine cringe. Don't know what he was thinking. Must have been paid big to do that.

I said this when he was still here …. The opposition worked him out ..quickly …

Rush up and cut down on his time …don’t take any dummies …he hasn’t got the pace to beat you or put a step on you…

He will likely have an average/slightly above average NRL career still on the back of his high motor and kicking game …but probably that will be at 13… he isn’t the next coming of Brad Fittler who had both the pace and the step

Ciraldo has huge problems. He switched so many players around in that game searching for a miracle fix. They have zero polish in attack. They looked dangerous once they started running super hard and aggressive, but still only scored off a blatant forward pass and lucky throw back in, and a very lucky try off a deflection. I expect the media will ramp up on them very soon and they will start to lose confidence. Galvin can play, and hes tough, but he kills their attack most of the time. Looks dangerous, but he is an individual.

Ciraldo is no super coach, he missed the obvious change.

Galvin's no look pass does not fool the defence. A 5/8 needs more then being big to succeed. His lack of pace makes him predictable and places pressure on his backline.

Galvin as a half is very similar to Hastings, lacks speed and is an easy target now everyone knows what’s in his play bag. Iam certainly not writing him off as a player and could be a very handy 13, but I just don’t see him as a potential elite half.

He must be pleased he is not coached by Benji now as things have been so good at Belmore..NOT

Galvin publicly complained about Benji's coaching, but he played far better under Benji than with Ciraldo.

That is arguable.
He stood out here more and his volume of work was high, but it was largely ineffectual.

I agree though, there is a lot of improvement required from his game.
