OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

They will be the next big drama that dominates 360. If they lose to Souths next week, which I think they will, then they definitely will lose to Penrith the week after. That’s 3 losses in a row, when they were lucky to even win their first two. They’ve been riding on this false facade since the start of last season that they are competition heavyweights. They aren’t. Any semblance of a chance they had of being one, went out the door the moment they punted their 7 and 9 while on top of the ladder halfway through last season. They have been riding on their early season form ever since. They were shocking at the back end of last season, going out of the finals in straight sets, and they have been lucky so far this season. Their facade is about to come crashing down, so much so that I don’t even think they will make the 8. I don’t think pretenders are even a strong enough word for them. Souths are pretenders. The Dogs are imposters.
Spot on.

He is getting paid ten times more than his output. Not saying he is not trying, but when you’re being paid more than 75% of your team mates there is an expectation you can deliver and make a major contribution to your team. At present there is effort but it’s not producing anything for his team and that’s what he is being paid to do
I think you are hitting the nail on the head here...

Galvin is 'trying'.

The big salary, the big performance effort. He is pushing and pushing and pushing.
Just like Luke Brooks did. Too much effort all over the place.

You can't be a halfback like that. You have to get a feel for the game. IMHO if I was Ciraldo I would move Galvin to Fullback if I want him to learn how the team flows. Halfback ain't Galvin's position.

Galvin ran over 200 metres his stats will always look good based on the back of his work ethic. A coaches dilemma.

At some point if things don't turn around some one will become answerable.
I never get that stat. Sure, there needs to be level of effort, but the real stat is meters per run - how effective you are. A large number of meters can just mean you never pass.

Doesnt have the pace for fullback

I never mind if a player leaves the club on good terms even if they play better elsewhere it is when they treat the club badly that i dislike them and never want to see them involved in our club again or win a premiership at any club.Moses treated the club the worst then Galvin and third place goes to Morrisson.

Woods is way worse than Morrison. All Morrisin did was choose a good offer from a stronger club. I dont remember him dogging us

Big stef is a good example. It sucked to see him go but I do enjoy seeing him play well at the storm. Even papalili to a degree. For whatever reason we told him to look elsewhere and now hes probably on track to play in a grand final.

Bateman and Noffa who are disliked by a few here.. but in my limited interactions with them, they both went above and beyond for my family members - so ill always remember them as good blokes, no matter what happened after. I think they were probably both victims of change management, but thats just me talking out my backside.

Dont remember dogging us??????? He was Captain at the time, just like that flea Woods.

Was he the captain? Anyway, I saw Morrison play as a junior and I new he wasnt a great loss. He didnt go onto any great heights at all and probably wpuld have sent Balmain broke if he stayed. Woods was way worse. Long term captain, rep player and tried to get other good players to leave.

Lachlan Galvin is honestly one of the most bizarre cases in rugby league. I have never seen such media hype for a young player. Maybe Latrell Mitchell when he was at the Roosters. But this guy?

Like yeah, he is talented, but the way the media spoke about him, it was like he was the second coming of Andrew Johns. I'll never forget the hype piece Matty Johns did on him. Genuine cringe. Don't know what he was thinking. Must have been paid big to do that.

Haven't missed him one second. Rotten attitude and not a team player. Only cares about how he is doing, couldn't give two stuffs about his team mates. Couldn't be bothered putting in the hard yards here, only used us as a stepping stone so he could walk into a ready-made top 4 squad. Then the club he joined had to dump two integral players to accommodate him, that must've done wonders who squad morale.

He should change his name to Wayne Kerr.
Ash Taylor springs to mind. That ended well! I remember commentators saying Tigers would rue Luke Brookes leaving. How’s that turned out. If anything he’s been even less effective at Manly. Galvin will be the same. For all the hype, I could name 5 young halves already a level better than him.

As much as I like to see the Dogs lose and as much as I hate the way Galvin left our club, I cant help but feel sorry for the kid. He has been thrown to the wolves by the media, his manager and perhaps his family. Yes he should accept some of the blame, however the way the media glazed him over the last 18 months was sickening, and it was coordinated by his manager and Gould, for Gods sakes Matty Johns did a special on him like he was the next immortal, Katoa is 10 times the player Galvin is or will ever be and I have not seen anywhere near the sycophantic behavior about him. The buck stops with Gould and Moses when it comes to Galvin, if his career unravels than it is on them in my view. I don't think Galvin is clever enough to orchestrate the exit he did from the club, he actually seems a pretty simple kid, i think it was all Moses and Gould and Galvin was just dumb enough to agree to be manipulated by them. Hopefully he can have a long career in the NRL however I get the feeling he and the Dogs fans are going to have to come to terms with the fact that he is an average player but with a great engine and that will equate to a long and successful NRL career once he accepts his place in the team he plays for, its not 7 and it may be 6, however I believed from the start that he is probably a 13 however he seems to have a problem bulking up so that may not be possible.

He has good run metres, so put him at lock. It's not the primary role of a half.

Sure, if he's doing that on top of his duties, then great, but he's not.
