Latest on Lui

i hope he gets the right help. what a waste of natural and unique talent. Not many can play in the NRL. A sad story. Being the club that wests Tigers are, the spirit, we should kickstart his recovery process. I dont think this has anything to do with football. The man needs help.

Kaiser, you make some good points and yes a 12month ban or so has merit. My concern was for the wife and child, that if you take away his income they would suffer. As for goal time, just see it as counter productive. Education and counseling should be the first path to peruse.

Just hope he gets a chance to turn things around and not end up on the scrap heap of lifelike so many other indigenous Australians

I was of the understanding they seperated in July, hence why he climbed the balcony? And another point from this article, there is no mention of the baby being with the mother. Is the child living with someone else?

so I would expect that wests-tigers and Rob Lui part ways within two weeks.
as his court appearance is this week.

Isn't it strange when you think about it
If this happened on the field and he laid the boot into the referee he would get a life ban from the game
He does it at home on his wife\girlfriend and people saying he should only get the sack from the club or stood down but be able to continue his career

Is their something wrong with our society ??

He can't remember to kick on the last tackle with 5 minutes left in a semi final, but he can remember to kick his girlfriend and mother of his child on the ground.

I doubt he will get jail time due to him needing to work to support his child, but hopefully he is put at the mercy of the NRL and they come down very hard on him.

I would suspect that Lui will be sacked and de registered for 12 months.

All depends on the result. I would assume the club can only act depending on the outcome of the court case. Can't have another Brett Stewart on the NRL's hands.

Is the full case this week? That seems very quick to me. Much quicker than Benji's.

If sacked Lui should be deregistered for the lenght of his Tigers contract.I feel very sorry for his partner as these actions are learnt from birth and moving back up to North Queensland will only protect one of this couple and I know which one!

After the court case and if found guilty he should get what he deserves, but i was thinking who was he with that day some of the senior players would know he has a drinking problem did anyone notice he was drinking that much if so why not tell him to take it easy and look out for his team mate. It appears to me he gets angry when drunk i just dont understand why someone did not look out for him i am in noway sticking up for this guy men who hit women are dogs just a thought

He probably kept drinking after the players all went their separate ways. I don't know what he was like during the Mad Monday celebrations - I heard there was an incident involving a karaoke machine, but nothing has been heard since about that so I'm inclined to forget about that - but Ild imagine that if he were out of line someone would have surely pulled him back in line.

I think he gets angry when he comes home an alledgely finds his cousin at the unit with his girlfriend
Probably explains why he was trying to climb up the balcony to get into unit
But all of this doesn't condone his actions

Lets all be reminded that this is before the courts.

I understand that Spartan but that exact same thing that I said was quoted in the story
Why does the story stand but my comment get deleted ??

Personally I don't care about the court case.

The first incident didn't sit well with me. This one is absolutely unforgivable from the clubs perspective.

I dare say i would end my 32 year relationship with the club if this grub runs around for us.

I'd like to think after sufficient punishment and rehab he can come back and make amends. Not to the Tigers neccessarily but to league in general. Anyone who knows the story of Michael Vick should know that even after being guilty of such a dispicable act and serving the apropriate time you can turn your life around. Michael Vick is one guy i truely admire for the way he's turned his life around. I'd like to see Lui do alot of charity work, that would be a start to earning back a bit of respect. Although i have no sympathy for him atm, i do hope sometime down the line after the proper punishment and rehab he can come back and fulfill his potential. Such a shame to see someone with so much talen throw it all away
