This signing was never going to happen. Signs were there when he didn’t turn up for arranged meeting when the offer was tabled. The club then pulled the offer and stuck to that decision ..... which I reckon was the right course of action.
All signs show that he will go to the club of his choice (Souths) and good luck to him. Then all they have to manage is the JAC signing and they will then have premiership backline in place. Still not the premiership winning pack to clear the path for them to perform.
So hopefully that will be done soon and we can kill this thread. Amen.

I’m in need of a ‘The Pom’ post real bad. He’s about the only bloke with accurate info.

@THE_POM took the last train for the coast .....

He is probably in the UK with Madge reminiscing about the old country.

There has been so much bad blood between forumers and others contributing to this thread that I will be so glad to see it dismantled and sent to the rubbish heap where it belongs.

Channel Seven’s Sunrise in their sport report this morning said LM soon to be a Rabbit on a 3 year deal. Whilst I want him at the Tigers I will be glad when it ends. If it does happen it will only make me loath Souths more.

I honestly can't see how they can fit him in under the cap without shedding at least 1 player! Arrow was practically a swap for Sam, bar an extra 100k and I know Sutton retired also but Mitchell wanted big bikkies. Unless he's changed his mind about the money and will play for Souths for way less than what both we and the Roosters offered. Nothing would surprise me with this guy.

One thing I've learnt from this thread is dont believe anything until there is a press conference with LM and he's sitting in front of a signed contract. Even then i probably would still have doubts until he runs out in round 1.

Just goes to show how shonky some of this stuff is with other clubs .. after signing Arrow they claim they cant afford LM, we don't have enough in our cap to fit him in .. a week later LM is about to sign a 3 year deal with them .. !! that's bulldust .. let's hope that the Roosters play hard ball and don't allow the transfer for this season .. and what's does the NRL think of these types of signings where they can clearly see something is not right about it .. nothing .. !! Just goes to show that NRL itself is on the take .. they allow the stronger clubs to get stronger and don't care if the weaker clubs get weaker .. !!

Souths are a professionally run organisation that apparently have planned what needs to be done in order to sign Mitchell, and then executed that plan successfully. Whether it's by moving on players or not who knows but by all reports they've got their man.

Wouldn’t pay any attention to reports. We’ve had our man 4 or 5 times the last few months.

The NRL isn't on the take. He didn't sign with us because he didn't want to, same with Arrow. Regardless of the rubbish we're force fed, we are not an attractive club. The elite players don't want to play for us.

They probably have got him but I fail to see what we can do. I reckon Latrell is exactly what we need - i.e. a big fast rep quality player in the outside backs. If he plays fullback and does it well he can have a massive impact on a team. It could also turn into a disaster. On massive money there is a lot of risk around him.

We gave it a shot and lost out. Let's see how it plays out.

I suppose we should also see what happens. Until there is an official announcement it's hearsay.

Is it possible for this thread to be deleted altogether, as it's pointless even discussing this bloke- he never was and never will be interested in coming to Wests Tigers (in my opinion):-1:

They bailed souths out of a salary cap mess 2 years in a row, they wrote Inglis a reference after he was caught speeding whilst over the limit.
No club has ever had this done in the past, nor will it happen in the future.
Even the calls souths received from officials during their 2014 title win was ridiculous, the NRL wanted souths to win, and they got their wish.

I still can't see how Souffs are an 'attractive' club... obviously that bonehead Crowe is the lure.
Won the title once this century (same as us) and have a supporter base filled with sycophants and toothless cretins.

I have no idea but they seem to be able to make signings we simply can't.

Fair enough but it's not Souths fault or the NRL's fault that we are in the predicament we are currently in.

Same on channel 9 news yesterday. Mentioned Latrell signing to Souths on a 3 year deal 🙁

Who cares as long he does not sign with the Tigers ... Souths can have him and all the Baggage he brings ! The smart operator’s want nothing to do with him ..the Foxx on the other hand come on down 👍

There is no way They could have signed him unless they have already offloaded players to other clubs without it been announced yet
