He is meeting the the Cows and JT , the JT factor could be very influential in his decision.
Altho they both come from an indigenous back ground which would mean a lot to Mitchel it would also take him a very long way away from his roots at Taree which I believe would be a negative for his family life.

the Tigers play would be to take our country game to Taree and have a week up there leading up to it.

Or, ask Mitchell what community project he would like the club to promote? Put the onus back on the players to choose how the club gives back. It's all well and good the clubs signing these charities up, but let the players decide on something close to their hearts.

@Tweed_Tiger I don't know how there can be any doubt. We have the drone pics of the contract being signed, nice of them to do it outdoors so we could get the pic.

Breaking news

Turns out the drone pic was just Latrell signing a fans footy card.

(But it was a Weststigers footy card he'd Photoshopped Latrells head onto)

I think we are locked in to Tamworth aren't we? And I doubt Taree has an NRL standard stadium, it's not that big a place.

I just can't see Holmes going to the Cowboys after a few years in New York with his partner. Money , it appears , is not his main consideration at present while trying to crack the NFL .People change and life in cosmopolitan Townsville may not have attraction it had as a teenager.

Holmes has to choose between close to a million dollars and just over 100k. That's a pretty big life decision. He'd have an idea by now if he's a chance to make the roster, and chances are he's not ala Hayne. He could set his family up for life by coming home.

Until somebody shows me a pic of him getting of a plane in cow country I won't believe he is there

There is so much innuendo, heresy, conjecture here its hard to tell the facts from the wishes and hopes of the forum members

Im sure there are a couple here who have some good intel but I can't tell the difference anymore

I think I will just sit and wait to see what comes out on the Wests website, only then will I get excited or disappointed

The NQ Cowboys have confirmed it to 7 News in Townsville. Just saw it on Twitter.

My guess is that he's given us a verbal commitment and only gone up to Townsville to cover bases before flying back to Sydney to tie up the loose ends. If I was a betting man I would wager that Madge & his travelling band of legends have already shook on it when they went up to Taree to meet with him and his family. I'm guessing that the cowboys are only a back-up contingency plan, they were the only club in a position to leverage against us once negotiations broke down with the dogs & chooks respectively. I think his trip up north is just good business practice from him & his manager, standard protocol. I don't think he was ever going to go up there to play for the cowboys realistically, this is just a big game of chess. He'll be back this week to sign you can bet your mortgage (don't bet your mortgage).
