Im not sure what the objection is to Brooks winning this. It isnt an assessment of the whole season its a 3,2,1 per game. Brooks played every game which gives him a lot more opportunites then most of the others in contention. He played well in a signifcant number of games but also every game gets 3,2,1 so 3 points vs storm where we lost by 60 is worth the same as 3 points when we win by 20. Was Brooks the best player no but its not hiw the award is judged. No one on here complained about the process before today but somehow now its a problem when it performs as expected.

And Tom Raudonikas, whose 2 x tribute games Brooks failed to rally or inspire the team in any way, let alone his 150th game where he had trouble with the banner. Goes missing and cant lead the team to dinner.

Those 2 blokes Kelly and Raudonikas and many other with both the Tigers and Magpies bled for jersey and Laurie just celebrates in his Panthers jersey in public. No pride, no idea and no shame.

There is something seriously wrong in our judgement within the coaching ranks.

He’s not in the top 5-6 halves in the Comp. But we’ve had rubbish forwards his whole career. I just know that a halfbacks job relies on momentum more than most would understand.

Example. Joey Johns would know that Chief would get momentum going early in a set and then if the ball went to Ben Kennedy he was good at isolating a half and getting a quick play the ball. Queue the Joey magic. You think Brooksy has that sort of weaponry in Garner and twal?

FWIW while I am majorly disappointed in our year, I am still proud of some of our player's efforts and I personally thought Brooksy had a strong season until he gained the captaincy.
Laurie was my pick tbh, just edging out Doueihi.

Congrats to all recipients, thought Stefano and Doeiuhi especially had fantastic years and have given a lot of fans some hope.

I agree Brooks hasnt had a good year, hasnt played great, but (serious question) do people here seriously question his effort?

I genuinely cant see that. For mine he genuinely puts in every week. Has had plenty of poor games but for mine its not through lack of effort.
