he is a good player when he is not injured but he is injured to often
I've noticed that player transfers in the American NFL always seem to be subject to a medical clearance. If the doctors don't certify the players fitness to play, the transfer doesn't happen. Maybe we could sign Lawrence on this basis, assuming there's anything to the rumour in the first place

honestly, taupau for lawrence would be a pretty decent swap. obviously taupau is high quality, but with the reduced interchange next year i dont think he will be as effective. lawrence is quality, experienced and can play big minutes.

BRENTON Lawrence’s manager, Gavin Orr, says that following discussions with Manly the veteran prop will definitely be staying at the club next season.
Lawrence was mentioned among a group of Sea Eagles players from which a couple could be moved on to make room for centre Dylan Walker. The others included utility forward Jamie Buhrer, utility back Peta Hiku and prop Josh starling.

But Orr tells RLW that Lawrence is going nowhere.
“It’s not happening,” Orr says. “Brenton’s going to stay. They haven’t got enough front-rowers anyway and Brenton’s got two years to go on his contract. I’ve spoken to the club and they’re not in a position where they want to move Brenton on, so end of story.”
Clubs often float a number of names in a situation like this to see how much interest there is from the outside. Lawrence attracted some interest, but is it going to be much easier for Manly to cut ties with Peta Hiku. The utility back is in huge demand.
About half of the clubs in the competition are chasing Hiku and when his future is decided it will ease Manly’s salary cap situation and allow them to finalise the acquisition of Walker from South Sydney.

I thought the rumour was they were after either Klemmer or Cordner. Maybe they are just speaking to everyone thinking someone will say yes. It's also possible that everyone is just guessing!
