Lovett has really grown on me of late, and I wouldn't be totally against a starting back row of he and Lawrence. Sirro could offer a lot off the bench if he runs hard and ball plays a bit up the middle late in the half, but at this stage he needs to earn his spot/wage.

Yea he runs hard and makes 2.5 metres each time. Just about at the peak of his career.

Just a plodder.

Sirro is a ball playing lock not an edge running backrower. His talents have not been fully utilised.

I am not sure this position exists anymore

I'd like us to try this with Siro off the bench. Starting back row of Rowdy, Sue & Marty (at lock), i.e.

It's sad that I agree with you and yet he still offers more than Sirro. His defense is near immaculate and while he isn't bending the line each hit up, at least he comes looking for work. Sirro definitely has more upside, but for the while I think Lovett has earned the right to start.
