Keep scoring a TRY in every 2.7 games Rowdy plays and they can push him out in a wheelchair…

His team mates certainly appreciate Rowdy..tough runs and all..

When you push him out in a wheelchair I hope that you run over the toes of a certain forum member that's always on his case.

Some of the comments in this thread are nothing short of disgusting.

Surely he gets another accolade.
First disabled player to have a NRL career?

Yep it has been like the Make a Wish foundation , this club for him.

You guys heading to Campbelltown in round 25, maybe we can arrange for you to say it too his face!

Chris can come armed with his bank account balance and property portfolio.

Just once would love to see Lawry lose it and smash someone, looks like we have found the perfect candidates, two for the price of one, hell maybe he can stay in his wheelchair, would still smash you to pieces

Couldnt agree more. But not everyone has mirrors in their house obviously. Those bagging him need to take a good hard look at themselves. I think he has earned the respect to be treated better, even if he has had some hurdles and might not be what we wished he would be.

Bloody great career if you ask me, and a great bloke as well.

A bit drastic but hard to argue with.

What is it that makes people think this way about a true legend for the tiger's.

If it wasn't for injury would be a true great of the club but injury has limited his impact unfortunately

Haha he is a good fella, a lovely bloke. No argument here.
That has nothing to do with my claim that he has only played a handful of quality games the past 6 years yet walks straight into the first grade squad whenever he recovers from one of his dozens of injuries. If he was a member of one of the NRL's premiere clubs he would have been finished back in 2012 or so. His continual selection over the years just shows this club's weak attitude towards winning another premiership and its no coincidence that we havent made the finals for so long when guys who didnt deserve their spots were selected week after week, year after year.. Ironicaly, he is playing ok now…but he gave us a number of substandard years to get here.

Dry your eyes worm :roll

I think he deserves a walk up spot. He is basically our only edge runner of the footy in the pack. I love ET but he doesn't have the same impact that Lawrence has on the edge.

He played well last week. He always busts his guy.

Wouldn't have been the players he was with and the coaches that made him look substandard - would it?

Players like Koro, who couldn't read the play properly when he was with us in the NRL and so Rowdy had to mark his man, Koro's man and ended up on a hiding to nothing.

Or Brooks passing to him when he was running a line - all good except the pass was a bullet pass, more aimed at someone 10 metres away rather than someone 2 metres away.

The list goes on and on….

I think you are being extremely harsh on a true legend of Wests Tigers. (maybe not in your opinion) but he at least should have respect instead of scathing lines that people use on sub standard players like Lovett.

Just sticking up for a mate.

Yes I can see it was all his fault that we failed to make the finals year after year  , especially with no other well paid stars, only him!

Was on big money back then, maybe the club did not want him off the field. Given, should have been moved to the forwards earlier, the hip injury robbed him of his blistering speed and was the cause of alot of his subsequent injuries. Hardly his fault he kept getting picked. He played on through the season with injuries many times and put surgery off until the end of the season which looking back was probably the wrong decision, but he always put the team first.

Anyway, as you say, he is playing well. People can dislike who they want, but no need for the comments that were made

Shows how Tedesco stands out, is the second best average try scorer in spite of having a shocking pack for most of his career. Pat Richards just pips him. And someone would have been closing in on game 300 by season's end in a different world.

It's not hard to score more tries than your mates when you never pass the bloody ball to them.

Certainly not blaming him in isolation. I dont think of him as a club legend, moreso an unfortunate player who has fought hard to overcome obstacles and circumstances out of his control. As i said, had he been a Bronco or Rooster etc.. he would have been moved on or retired years ago. However due to the fact we have never had better replacements here for him, he is seen as a club legend. I am more angry at the attitude of the club more than Chris himself, he has a go even with his limitations.

That's the biggest problem, he was never going to be the same player he was pre hip injury. People just expected him to be because he was on big money. Some were calling for him to get a pay cut, yeah, like they would in their jobs

Anyway, just no need for the comments that were directed. He loves the club and would never trash talk them (woods) or have a hissy fit (moses) or just think he is too good for everyone(???)

People scream that players are not loyal, and when one is (along with brooks) they stick the boot in.

You cant say what you want, but I can't ??

People take exception to the strangest things. Seriously.
Chris Lawrence could walk into a centrelink and get on disability pension with that injury. He is in for a world of hurt when he gets old. Those hip injuries really get you later.

I wish him the best outside football but whilst a playing for the Tigers I can't stand seeing him still playing. Even ESL didn't want him. That's speak volumes if a 2nd tier comp doesn't want you.
We are the retirement home club. We earnt that title.

Well you certainly seem to know about disability pensions and Centrelink

Good to see you know everything, obviously reading too much telecrap.

I really feel sorry for you cause your hate is going to last a long time, Chris will be around the club for many year to come after he hangs up his boots, just to annoy supporters like you. Good luck with that
