Lawrence to weigh up future after ruling out Super League move

so if if the info is right benji will be on 150 to 200 and rowdy wants more then that for less production. Im sorry i love the bloke but he is easily replaceable.

From watching the video, it was clearly filmed either yesterday or today. That's poor from Chris to use the club's most important game in 3 years to leverage a contract. I hope there is another side to this and he's not the villain he appears to be.

Paul Crawley said on 360 that benji this year is on 170k

So 100k for Lawrence is pretty good imo

Benji is smart these days. He understands that playing well and leaving on good terms is going to set him up for life. He will be earning double that post retirement.

Doing an interview with Weidler about contracts the week leading up to the biggest game since 2016 will not get you a new contract with Madge.
It’s poor form should be kept in house.

Agree, Tyga. Poor form by Lawrence and his management.

Not only poor form but counter productive. Just a guess but he must know an upgraded contract is not coming as it won’t be now.

Probably not a good time to be coming off contract for Chris and to be fair he is not the future of the club.I would hope a more equitable figure can be agreed to.
It is a pity its Lawrence but its about time that the club finally started to give players towards the end of their career realistic payments and not golden handshakes

And it’s not like he wasn’t looked after by the club when he was totally busted .

Not like he didn't look after the club by taking a pay cut when they had salary cap problems either.

It is what it is he doesn’t have a contract next yeah so he can’t be too happy about it. What do you want him to lie and say hie is happy?

Will it affect his game? Good question.

I would suggest he was ambushed with these questions after an interview was set up about Farah playing etc.

Can't see why he can't be paid what Farah is not going to be paid.

There are some on here that think Rowdy should be paying the club to play.

2 back rowers are Matts and Garner - if Rowdy is cut his replacement at the moment is either Huth or MCK - I would put forward that either of those replacements are nowhere near as good as Rowdy for next year.

Was he also ambushed to be on the radio tonight? Club legend or not this is poor form from him and a bit selfish.

The club can only pay him what they can afford ....

Everyone’s time comes at a point, not many get to go at the moment of their choosing. This week everyone at the club should have one job and one job only on their minds and that is the game on Sunday. Great club servant, wish him well if he is not in the playing group next year.

@Russell Its not the money it is the SPOT that is the key.. refreshing the roster 9 yrs without a semi appearance and Rowdy has been there for all of them. Time to move on !

Really disappointing from Chris. But can understand the frustrations not knowing if it's the last game for us or not.

What was his manager doing not pushing for a reply earlier in the year??

I suspect the club was in a 'wait and see' approach with how Chris recovered from his injuries, which were horrific, plus the added pressure of the salary cap. Things are very tight next year, that's the reality.

@GNR4LIFE yeah true, completely went over the top of my head. What’s the go with that ?

What happened to him being cap exempt?

I got shot down the other week when I mentioned this, that's why $300k is good value.
I know that he takes up 1 place in the squad of 30, but he is far better than some others.
