Lawrence to weigh up future after ruling out Super League move

@TYGA Lawrence has done well in the past, however he needs to know when to call it a day. Fact is he wants to stay for another year, however he shouldn't stay longer than his ability. I would rather have another Gardner anytime than giving loyalty. He should realised that he hasn't got much to offer for the future.

Hard decision for the Tigers to make.

A young, 80 minute playing, solid back row next year of 11. Matterson and 12. Garner or 11. Matterson and 12. Chris 'flippers for hands' Lawrence.

No place for him next year with Garner. I’d be looking at

11. Garner
12. Matto
13. Aloiai

With ET and MCK on the bench.

The same players who got us to 9th this year....nup...I want change!

A few of these for starters:

Backs: Jessie Ramien, Alex Glenn, Jessie Arthers, Gideon Mosby-Gela
Forwards: Joel Thompson, Kurt Capewell, Albert Vete, Herman Ese-ese

Mate he's had his chances, I don't think he's gonna make it. People only remember that he's "the fast guy" and forget that he can't defend and can't catch.

Lol so he’s dropping 20k to go again lol

In other words no one else wanted Mr Flippers lol

So there goes a spot in an already lack lustre roster taken up by a player looking for a retirement funded season playing in the Reggie’s ... unfortunately our club is so incompetent in these matters ,Rowdy should of been shown the door .. but wait his impact on yesterday’s game was immense.. NOT ! Another contract for an old boy that has no impact ,the mediocrity cycle this club surrounds itself with is mind boggling!

He knows he has no other options. There are no other clubs interested. His only two options are to take our offer or retire. He has no leverage.

Anything under 150 you have to keep him, but only if we clear at least 1 deadweight back rower first. If not then it isn’t a money issue, it’s a squad balance issue. I think it will be one of the saddest ends to a club career if he isn’t with us next year but understand it much more than any other brain dead decision we have made with retention.

It will be even sadder if he finishes up playing Canterbury Cup most of the year. Retire on a some high Rowdy.

@Newtown Where else is he going to play , if he is playing 1st grade put a red mark thought the team right away... the club would of been better to give him an off field position for that money he would of been more value in that position imo!

The back rowers are not why we are 9th it’s the backs. Jennings, Marsters, Mbye just not good enough. We also lack front rowers Mikalele, Twal were good but we need more than Clarke, ET, Eiso. Front rowers and backs with athleticism are the main problems + replacing Robbie.
