Chris always gives his best in games, as does Kev and I dare say both of them are great for team morale, on and off the field. Unfortunately, both of them lack the effectiveness we need in their respective positions in the starting side. Without due respect to them both, we simply need more impact in the second row and centre!

It does not take a rocket scientist to know maaters should not be kicking. Hopefully the club works swiftly on that.
Also believe the club need to make a call on two 9 in the 17\. Surely an extra forward has more benefit than those two.

Most of us are saying the same things. Lawrence is a champion bloke, a true professional and a fine example and leader for the younger players to follow. Also, before the hip injury, he was pure lightning with the ball and a try scoring machine. He will be remembered fondly for all these attributes and achievements. However, many of us feel that the team can do better if it replaces him with someone who is a more damaging runner, has better hands and can add more mongrel to our attack. The truth is that, despite making occasional hard hits in defense and running great decoys in offense, his regular handling errors are a liability to the team. Most of us are really not gunning for Chris when we say that he is not genuine, first grade back rower material. We already have hardworking toilers such as Eisenhuth, Rochow and Taylor and don't need any more, especially when they drop the ball regularly. What we do need is someone who can bend the line and for that reason I think he should be replaced by Sue, Felise or young Garner in ISP. Having said all this, it's clear that Ivan believes in Lawrence and intends to persevere with him. Like a few others, I am over the constant Rowdy bashing threads. Most of us want Chris gone but it's up to the coach. End of story.

Lawrence if well managed still has plenty to offer. He is as sort of guy who should be sent off to a tropical island once a month. He is the soul of the club with plenty of ability, but his body needs lots of well managed care…and we have the depth to do it

How could you possibly replace Rowdy with Sue or Felise? They are good props but don’t have the speed or agility required for an edge player. We tried Sue in the second row and it hasn’t worked. Most of us don’t want Chris gone. Our forwards are doing very well. Let’s back them.

It's also relative, Thompson dropped the ball right under our own sticks at the death of the game from a kick, Lawrence dropped a few early and from memory 2 of them were on the attack in their 20? And at least 1 of those was a hospital pass, I'd have to check the others.
I'd love to really know how many of these fumbles, all-career, Lawrence has had when just given nice out the back ball. How many drops were actually being in the teeth of the defence and thrown a bullet, or taking a tough hitup and being tackled by 3 dudes.
Lawrence never seems to get safe ball, he's always being asked to do dirty hard hitups and put his body on the line. Look how often Aloiai drops Brooks' passes as well, to have a think about pass selection.

Oh come on. Lawrence has awful hands. There's simply no denying it. He does cop some poor balls from Brooks, but he drops way too many passes that the vast majority of second rowers would take 80-90% of the time. They may not bust the line when taking those balls, but they'd hold on to it and get dominated in the tackle.
I'd like to see Lawrence to the bench and Aloiai to start. Lawrence playing at full speed for 35 mins off the bench might see him cut out the mistakes from the game. He runs hard so could have a bit of impact. Not an 80 min player anymore that's for sure.
