Lawrence's injury....

Does anyone have any experience with a Lawrence type injury.

Does the injury restrict training and eating habits? Would you lose weight and strength which would affect expected return date?

In light of that, would Lawrence be a chance for next weeks match which we should make barring some miracle win from the Eagles and Raiders.

Anyone??

He should not lose weight.

Its a big operation. Playing next week is not a good thing.

In reality its a 2-3 month turn around for a normal person. 6 week turnaround for a league player but the bone might be strong in 4 full weeks.

Yes it might be solid and the two pieces broken are fused to together, but the bone at the fracture site has not achieved a normal level of density. That is a big problem for a 4 week turnaround.

BUT !! he would need to be grappled hard again or hit high for it to be damaged.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing but gee it would have been nice to get it sorted after the souths game, but its all about rolling the dice

It was a hairline fracture after the Souths game. They could not operate on it without fully breaking it - which I do not consider to be a good option.

Instead Lima applied enough pressure for the fracture to become a full break and surgery was neccessary!

Shows just how tough players are these days. Playing with even a hairline fracture would not be pleasant. However, in hindsight maybe we should have rested him after the souths game till he was right.

We were trying to win games and cement a top 4 spot.. Escpecially after losing to Souths no coach would have rested his star player if they had the abillity to still take field and perform nearly at 100% potential..
Its sad this happened but there are things we cant predict.

He was selected to represent the Tigers in the League sprint race, I guess his participation may now be in doubt, if he was out who would take his place ?

I saw him eating one of farah's schnittys in farah's new restaurant on the footy show, maybe that was what pushed it to breaking point?

The Tigers don't have anyone competing in the Usain Bolt race, it's only players from clubs who aren't in the finals from what I've heard.

I honestly dont think in those few weeks Lawrence was playing at nearly 100% hairline fractures are often more painful than a clean break.

i heard yesterday from the organiser that there will be an nrl race with inglis, hayne, barba, j morris, garnder, lachie turner and someone from afl. there will also be a celebrity relay as well which bolt will be in so there is not really a fair representation of who is where not even uate who would be within a chance
