Lawry

Not sure if he is suited as a bench player purely covering in case of injury it seems

It's a bit sad watching him nowadays... Seems to run hunched over like an old bloke

He has def lost all his mobility.

I am surprised he played on to be honest.

1. We offered him rock bottom salary...that had to hurt.

2. He went to market...and not a single club wanted him. That had to hurt.

3. He has a thriving business.

4. His injuries are going to cause him a lot of issues when he is older. Why risk another? His body has been broken so many times.

Perfect time to wave goodbye and take up a club ambassador type role.

Hopefully it's declared properly.

I love Chris but last year you could see his legs were running slower as the season went on. He isn’t a bench player and he looks gassed after 15-20mins coming off the bench.

It sucks but we need to look at other options.
His time is up.

Bring young Blore onto the bench to replace Lawrence .. (2 small 4 a forward, and 2 slow 4 a back) .. sorry Chris but it’s time go mate .. !!

Could have been one of our better Aust centres if injury had not struck.
Great player who stuck by the Club when many didn't and the low maintenance type I admire.

One of my favourites but not offering much. Not in my top 17 I’m sad to say. Then again, the way I’m feeling I wouldn’t put many of the pretenders in a top 17. Maybe we could call it a below average 17

A silly inclusion by Maguire on the bench. And he was only used in the last 15 minutes. Taylor offers energy in defence and can ball play, MCK has X-factor, Musgrove has aggression. All offer more value than what Lawrence provides.

Our club will forever owe Chris Lawrence a debt for what he has put his body through for this club. He doesn't deserve to go out this way. But we need to make the tough decision to ensure we aren't forever stuck in 9th place. We always seem to have a token selection on either reputation, name or sentiment. Thanks for all you've done Chris, but the time has come.

The losing culture comes from the top .., the signing of Rowdy for another season just proves that ... instead of chasing a young up and comer they bent over when there was some media pressure applied !

They should put him on earlier, that's what they should do. I don't think the first sub of Clarke and Seyfarth is doing it for the ruck or the attack. It's pointless to have Rowdy start with 15 to go.

And Rowdy is still the only bastard out there who knows how to run a gap and put his body on the line. A few times Benji went wide looking for runners and they are all holding back waiting to get the football. At least Rowdy is willing to put himself on those lines for the halves.

Interesting stat - of the players in our current roster, in the past 2 completed seasons only 6 of them have scored more tries than Lawrence in the same period (Lawrence scored 8).

Even the most sympathetic of us are calling it sadly.
I think the more pertinent question is: how are we supposed to react when we see his name on the team sheet again next week?

I agree with those who say start him. The balance of our team is all wrong. Because we leak points , we have swapped Garner and Luci. Start Rowdy on the right, move Garner back to the left where he is much more successful. Move Luci to the bench with MCK, Musgrove (if fit) and Walters. Also this will help our go forward which has been abysmal the last two weeks.

While this is a Lawry thread, can anyone tell me what Seyfarth brings to the table? He looks a bit one dimensional to me.

Def surprised Garner got dropped (if not injured)...but good to see Lawry removed from the bench.

I guess this is it for him. Don't aim up vs a pretty good Raiders pack and likely gone.

Garner surely can't be left out for long.

Best before date was 2011, use by date was 2015. But this is WT's, so expect to see (c) next to his name next week.

Torn on him. I think he could offer a bit starting and coming off for Lucy later in the game.

I don't think he offers much in a 15 min cameo.

He needs to hang them up this year, he is broken. He's been an amazing clubman and he's done well to play on despite all his injuries but there's no more juice left in the orange.

A career wasted. Crazy to think in a 2 year period we lost 3 players to career killing injuries (Rowdy, Tuiaki, Dwyer). I know Rowdy has gone on to player another decade, but not as the player he could have been. Instead of finishing his career as one of the best 3 players to ever play for us, he’ll finish his career as one of the most maligned.
