Leichhardt and Cambo

And I agree with you I think we need to use one ground only and not 3 or 4 I'm just not sure if parramatta is the answer though… I thought I read something about 12 months ago in regards to having a ground and training facilities built in the Liverpool area, surely that would be a better option

Parra are building a training facility away from parra stadium and it looks like we're getting one at Liverpool. It would be a playing venue only.
Bit like now, how we train at concord but play elsewhere.

If someone was to build us a playing venue at Liverpool then that would be unreal.

Well that makes the idea sound not as bad then

Now with all games live on tv and relatively cheap for the average punter the NRL will struggle to attract bigger crowds for the foreseeable future. Lowering ticket + food proces may help.

The derby games and special event ones like anzac day and easter weekend will always draw decent crowds but tv will keep more people at home. It may pay the bills for the NRL but crowd numbers i think have peaked in the sport.

I'm Ok with the current 4 x 4 x 4.

However if the club can't afford to do that any more then we should go to the highest bidder from the corporate world.

As a Balmain fan originally, I love Leichhardt, but the truth of it is, nostalgia aside, it is a fairly ordinary place to watch footy.
On the hill you are usually blocked from viewing a least of of the corners, if not both.
The seating is not great, the facilities poor. I really enjoy going there once or twice a year, but that is it.
CSS is a wonderful suburban ground, but tyranny of distance means that away fans don't both coming out and many of our fans outside the area dont get there much.

The big stadiums are a great place to watch footy, and I think it is the way forward. I know people talk about no atmosphere at homebush, I dont quite agree with that, and over time, you can build a bigger base. You actually get a lot of neutrals going to games at ANZ with all the corporate events and ANZ membership packages.

The big stadiums have the ability to be an attraction in there own right

Jeez, I didn't check the dates when reading this last page and would've sworn it was from this week. That's saying something.

I'd be interested in knowing if the pro parra stadium being wests home ground still feel the same?

ANZ is one of the easiest grounds to get in and out of. Designed purposely that way for very large crowds, Carpark right there with train or bus services available with just a 3 minute walk.

Is this the last hurrah for these 2 grounds? I have been under the impression since Pascoe took over that it will be.

Impressions hey.

May as well play at Gosford.
Someone here reckoned our deal with ANZ will be voided due to a state government buy out..contract worth nothing. Sounds like rubbish to me.
Cambo will always be there… Dunno about Leichhardt... May be the last year... Gotta take my missus there she never been

Date night

I’m really starting to hate BankWest. It’s one of, if not the only grounds where the teams enter the playing field on the opposite side of the field to where their fans are located. Only the media and Corporates are allowed on the Western side of the field. So the only way fans get to see entertainment, presentations etc is to watch it on the big screen. I get a better experience at home in that regards. It’s not configured that way at Leichhardt, Campbelltown or ANZ and a few others as well. Yes there are still fans on the opposite sides of the fields at these grounds but at those grounds fans aren’t excluded from the side the players are on.

That is my only gripe with the stadium, I feel less connected on the Eastern side of the ground and I also don't like sitting in the sun. Though I have seats on the 50 metre line at Bankwest with lots of other supporters around me, at ANZ you are miles from the action and a lot of times we are the only ones in our row. It is just way too big for our purposes and there is nothing around it to do before and after the game.

I find it particularly annoying, as you’ve probably noticed, I like to take pictures and at BankWest as a fan I am excluded from the best vantage point.

I don’t really have a problem at ANZ my seats are pretty close to the action near the players. In Leichhardt and CSS I am in the stands above the players.

I've been a member for 20 years and for some reason they gave me terrible seats at ANZ but there really isn't any seats I like there. Its hard because I have the best seats in the Rugby League world at Leichhardt but sadly its days are numbered and Bankwest comes the cloest to providing me with similar seats.

At Leichhardt I am in Bay 8 right next to the players enclosure, have sat there for over 25 years. Firstly when they were GA, I sat there even though I had seats in the stands and when they made them Members seats I requested them and have had them ever since.

I would like to see Campbelltown redeveloped and expanded, there is room there to grow, particularly if both existing grandstands are ripped down and larger, sheltered grandstands are built in their place. Happy to keep both ends of the ground as hills for the families.

I believe it will be renovated for the new A league franchise
