How do you know?
Youve only been here a couple of months

**_Yes and you've tried to make this point before._** Long time reader, have posted on and off over the years. I've already stated that.

Do you have an opinion or thoughts to add to this thread or are we just playing the man again?

**_No… I haven't_**.
Sorry I'm unable to keep up with all your accounts .. I've only noticed you posting these last few months... what was your previous username?

Hmmm…very quiet Patriot.
I'll try again.
What was your previous username?
Just curious

Arguably the best WT goal kicker (and short/long kicker :slight_smile🙂 is Drinkwater ATM, better than Lalohea, Marshall, Marsters or Milne.
However, there is no campaign 'Drinkwater must play', please explain!

Drinkwater is going well. However I can't see him replacing our current halves. Same with Gamble.. Unless we have multiple injuries (which is possible).

Neither will see first grade this year.

Not sure why being put in veggies for one game with a very deep squad prompted this thread.

Cleary has made it clear that players will miss out each week and makes no apology for that.

I see this as positive move for Tui in a way. There are areas of fullback play he can work on given how little he played there in the last two years. This will give him the opportunity to work on them with a bit more time and less pressure.

Im looking forward to seeing him kill it.

On today’s limp effort for the Magpies …. we don’t have to assume anything but that he will struggle to get out of ISP level.

He’s had his chance and failed to grab it.
We have no specialist fullback and goal kicker and he can’t make it.

Tui hasn’t been that bad just average and you can’t have average players in the 1, 7,9 jerseys in the NRL.

100% agree, can't believe some people thought he wasn't dropped, Thompson now has his chance, lets see how he goes,

Thompson is a weapon. We need to sign a specialist fullback next year as he is more effective on the wing. Great finisher and gets involved when he wants to. Need a bigger body with speed at fullback.

the problem with Lalohea is that (in the current form) he is not the answer to either FB or goal kicking:
- even in the ISP we have a better FB -> Haleta, in FG, Thompson > Lalohea
- Drinkwater is best goal kicker @ WT

And if we don't want to choose 2nd best option:

-FG FB -> Thompson

-our best answer to the goal kicker question (ATM) is Drinkwater

So discussion shall be: where we play Drinkwater, as he is the best goal kicker at WT, not 'where we play Lolohea?'

Drinkwater doesn't have an NRL contract so it's no problem at all…

He plays ISP..

That's a bit rich coming from you Lol.

There were quite a lot of people who gave you great reasons why JT was wrong for the club, holding the club back, me I hated him, I partied hard when he got sacked, 18 months too late though.
But everyone else was genuine in their disapproval of JT, you were a rusted on lover and couldn't or wouldn't see it, now you are doing the same with Tui.

Nailed it!

How do you know?

The new Stryker!!!!

I don't think we have to assume he will be stuck in reggies.

Watched the ISP game today and he was hopeless.

Still can't see the so-called x factor he has.

Looks overweight and lazy. Time to hand in his bus ticket

I posted earlier today that I was a fan of a Tui. I thought he showed enough last year to suggest he would have X-factor. But for whatever reason it’s not happening. Maybe he’s just not a fullback. If it’s halves he’s after - forget it. I reckon there are 5 in front of him.

Drinkwater never got a shot at first grade at the tigers. It was little john that got preference
I always thoght he was better. I think he is NRL level. If i was a coach with moses in my team i would sign drinkwater.

Tui could be a star if he played physical. He simply plays way too soft to be a genuine first grader. This guy would destroy teams if he played with the same physical attitude of Thompson, Nofo, MWZ, Naqaima etc. I fear he just hasn't gott hat mongrel in him though. I cant think of many current NRL players who can get away without playing tough. Even every halfback in the comp plays more physical than Tui. It's a shame, because he is such a talent.
