Let's be a 1/2 full glass tonight..

we are good in most patches-but when we dumb,we b real dumb, and just starve ourselves of victory -i do enjoy how we put on an easy 12 pts most 2nd halves. ,when we win n my frown turns upside down why does my face ache.lol

I thought our line speed was good in defence for most of the night with effort being shown.
RTS saved a few tries which may have seen a different result. Classy player.
Won the second half when we could have given up another 40+ score, when we lost a few players and finished with no one on the bench.
Ice played well and will cover Bateman for the rest of the year.( cut the rats tail off Ice)
Reggie’s beat the 3rd place Warriors.
Parramatta lost to keep up the battle for the spoon alive.
Leichhardt next Thursday v Cowgirls hoping for repay of last years result there not the NQ result.

About glass haf full....Why do I subject myself to continued support of the WT? It's that birth right and obligation. You learn to take smaller victories. It also means that those moments of success are that bit sweeter, after all the bitter moments, knowing that victory may not come around for a while. Supporting successful teams does not provide this buzz; to be honest. If you support a team solely because they are successful, it is likely that your love for the team is pretty shallow.

Whenever we do take the scalp of even a moderately more successful team its a big thing. I suppose I could all go and look for a more succesful lover and lavish my attentions on them instead in return for more immediate gratification. However, that would make me feel like a body for hire, pimping myself out to whomever is paying the most.

And yes, my philosphy these days is "the question is not will we win, it is instead, in what unprecedented fashion will the WT lose?" - so in a way, it makes the loss easier to rationalize.

We all love the WT for just about any reason - otherwise, why would be reading and posting here?

Because one of the things we are taught to value from an early age is loyalty. And one of the greatest ways to show loyalty is to root for our team even when it’s performance is so poor that someone else might opt to save his/her money and time for some more logical purpose. Adopting a poor performing team is similar to rooting for Charlie Brown to finally overcome all the obstacles and throw that game-winning pitch, or get a kiss from that little red-headed girl. And we root for that to happen as our way of being loyal to him to the end.

PS - This is not taking away in any shape or form of the current unacceptable form from the club or our players and the need for change.

Alex Seyfarth.

For a bunch of fans that whine & moan about players not putting in, we still find time to put the boots into Seyfarth, who is probably guilty of trying too hard.

He's not the most talented. He's not the fastest. He does have a dumb play in him.

But geez he puts in. Even getting flogged, he cares.

For mine- he plays for Bateman now. Him & Sam Fainu as your second row. Seyfarth doesn't get bullied.

I'd put up with his dumb plays if I knew he had the back of every guy in the team. Compare him to the guy we are trying to keep on $800k+ per year.

How do we get Ofehangue back? Another guy I can trust will put in.

Players that “put in “ are preferable to players that don’t try..

But trying hard isn’t enough in professional sports

Not arguing re what is needed in pro sport but better to have a team of tryers than 1/2 peahearts who don't give a flying.
Can start a build with tryers.

yes… its better to have a team of tryers … which I said too.. but the only thing that really matters is winning games…

Looking back on it the r boys had a real crack at it yesterday in the first half they had absolutely no ball defended there line really well.

Just look through the team list and consider how young all these blokes are. There still playing for benji.

We need another experienced coach to help benji out and we will improve next year towards the back end of next year I think we will be a good team

yep, the team, young guys especially, are giving effort but, with many in their 1st year in the nrl, understandably tiring earlier in games. They need a rest but lack depth to give them a break.

Here's hoping the chance to get 1 more win, an improvement on 2023, can provide motivation & encouragement to push through to the end of the season.

The donkeys were down and out for all of about 18 months, we’ve been rebuilding with zero upward trajectory for decades, there is no comparison.

You can look back decades if you please, but it is irrelevant to my post about realistic expectations based solely on the age of yesterdays WT team list and it's resemblance to the blooding of the young donkeys in seasons 2020 and 2021.

Remembering that they then only achieved 9th in 2022, WT are only some two thirds of a year into the remodelling of the club that includes a youth policy, so the comparison between the relative performance can only be made from 2026 onwards.
