Noticeably bigger too, was Liddle.
He was always a tall kid in the 20s but slight frame.
He has done a really good job bulking up. I guess when your off for near 12 months due to a leg injury you can spend time building up your upper body.
We are going to be fine if we can’t secure Grant or Smith from the storm but if we have both, Either one could definitely spend time at lock.
At this stage grant wins the battle on form and competitive streak but Liddle has a lot of a Cameron Smith composure about him that might just be more important in games then a player that plays up tempo.
Next couples of weeks will be interesting.

Sure will be interesting we've got some big teams coming up. I wonder if Simpkins will be used in that utility role towards the last few rounds but probably not since he hasn't had any cc games to get him match fit might be wiser to wait till next year

We won't see Simpkin this year.

Big effort in his first game back. Hopefully he stays in injury free for the rest of the year. Kid deserves a break from injury.

This is a kid who would have just been relieved to finish off yesterday’s game. If he can stay injury free it would kind of soften the blow of losing Grant, to me anyways

Not to be disrespectful to Grant, he has done a great job, but it's Liddle i want to see be the best in the game. He's one of ours, it's that simple for me. Given what he has been through his effort yesterday was outstanding. If he remains injury free, then Madges plan falls into place i.e Liddle our hooker with Simpkin serving apprenticeship.

Also this club cops a hiding about the players we have allegedly "let go", funny how none of the so called experts never acknowledge the players this club has stuck by.

I thought he had a fantastic game for the first one back after 12 months. Not to mention we had about 50 backrowers in the team so would have been difficult to jump out of dummy half and run with our go forward but I feel he did it quite well.

When grant comes back, I would definitely have Liddle on the bench to cover for 20-30mins. We would have a lethal dummy half running game with both of those two firing.

I saw enough yesterday, everything considering, that Liddle is the future at 9 for us. Alwasy hoped it would be this way. If he stays injury free. He made enough good runs early on, showed guts, was blowing quickly which is to be expected, but he is crisp and sharp. Love it.

I read somewhere he is the fastest in the club, well last year or something he won all the short distance stuff. Unsure how much the acl would have affected his pace but he still looked like he had it yesterday

What a player?

Must admit I got a bit fatigued myself, defending him on here against all the people saying he was injury prone etc. Grant is the next Messiah etc. etc.

This kid will do me, always have thought that. Great defender, brilliant quick well directed passes from DH and quick runs from DH, but always looking to offload at the same time. The only thing he lacks is a strong kicking game. Is Robbie helping him here or going to help him with this aspect or take the 600k odd and do nothing.

I'm hoping after all his hard work, he reaps the ultimate reward and stays injury free for the rest of his career, he certainly deserves it. If he does we have produced a brilliant player.

Jake, go get 'em and unleash hell.

We all knew that Jacob was our preferred hooker from the time he came into first grade ...injuries have been unkind to him, however I think now he is stronger and bigger he will be the 9 we always knew he would be...

While Im at it a big shout out to Harry who I commend for the move to us and the service he has given us in that role...If he comes to us next year after the deal we will welcome him with open arms...

We don't know how often Robbie Farah visits training, but we know he is there at least every 2nd or 3rd week to work with our hookers. He mentioned it a while back on the NRL teams show on Tuesdays.

He's different to Grant. Harry is more of playmaker whereas Liddle is more of a runner and distributor. I feel like Liddle enables the halves to play better but will have less try assists than someone like Grant.

It's only one game but I think Liddle makes us more dangerous in the opposition 20.

he can hold his head up high after that performance

i suspect he played longer minutes than madge planned, and made a good amount of tackles and dummy half passes.

His explosive speed will return when his leg properly heals, but i liked what i saw

He nearly set up a try as well but got unlucky with the bulldogs player catching it between his legs

Two different game plans when they are on the field. Grant is a little like Robbie Farah, where the ball often gets stuck in his hands, but he offers a genuine try scoring/assisting threat.

Liddle allows the halves to be the focal point, as his good service gives them more time.

I hope they both can be fit at the same time and we play them both. Grant 50-55 minutes, Liddle 25-30 minutes.

That's why in tandem they would be great, fresh Liddle coming on in the back end of the halves would be deadly.

Massive congrats to Lids again, really a great story and an incredible comeback game considering the injuries and no reserve grade to ease into it.

it's said often that Liddle is the fittest at the club at 100%. fitness won't be an issue for him once he gets into the swing of things.

Could watch this pass on repeat. Brilliant. https://twitter.com/NRL/status/1295118136711114753?s=19

Thanks for that i missed that during the match, it was an absolute bullet put on a platter for Brooks. I was glad to see Jacob back did well for such a long time out although im still leaning towards Grant for the remainder of the season. Liddle can concentrate on his rehab and get minutes where he can.
