Life contract

Could WT be planning a life contract for Marshall? A contract to end his career in NRL with the WT and never to play for any other NRL club? Another 3-4 year extension to his current terms?
Perhaps Marshall has already got plans of finishing up his career early in league to give him a good stint in union to play for the All Blacks?
Thoughts?

I Hope so. Barring Injury, Benji is only 24 and one of the games greats

A 4 year ext would see him with is till 30.

A three year contract will see him out to the end of 2013…..that sounds like a fair plan.If he still has a fire in him to keep on at the Tigers...he will sign another one then.
I am not a fan of contracts more than 3 years
Can anyone on here see Benji in anything other than in a Wests Tiger jersey.....I can't.

I'd like to see Benji sign a further extension beyond his current one as he is still only 24\. It would be great to see him finish his league career as a Tiger.

Right on, Aladinsane, I too, cannot see Benji with any other NRL team, but that's not ruling out a change to another code. Lets hope the idea of an extension of 3 years or so, proves fruitful :exclamation:

C_T, where did this thread come from ?
Is there something afoot?
Is the club negotiating a contract extension?
What's the story?

 Benji is here till 2011,,,,,He'll never play for another NRL club….Oh wait there was that little thing about a get out clause if Sheens wasn't the Coach........

i dont think theres anything afoot maybe ct is just concerned cause benji contract ends 2011 n the way players get pounced on b4 there contract expires maybe benji should b wrapped up b4 this happens , remember the photo of benji in a titans jersey

He seemed pretty chummy with Bennett at the All Stars promo, what about Saints as a possibility ? He would also grow as a player by playing under Bennett something I am sure he would relish if he did want to change.

But I agree that it really hinges on Sheens staying at the club, when does that deal finish and without pre-empting the answer is it likely he will get an extension ?

Hey Vincenzo, did you happen to buy the newspaper today? I read a small article in one of them which might answer your questions.

You should become a fan Alad… Marshall will bring to the club what many can't, regardless of their stature in the game. His injuries do not even come into the equations in regards to financial losses to the WT. The salary cap can/will still be manipulated no matter what the NRL try to do to stop the rorting. So it is not a high risk gamble.
People WILL go out of their way to walk through the turnstyles to see a team with the likes of Lawrence, Tuiaki, Ellis, Tuqiri, Farah and Marshall in the one team. Throw in the likes of exciting players such as Moltzen, Ayshford, Galloway in the mix and you have a recipe for some great footy. This is the beginning of something on a grander scale which was put in place over a year ago..

I'm positive about the club as well. Problem is that I have been positive since 2005.

Still the truth is we have a good squad of players, a couple of superstars, a proven coach and I can see no real weaknesses in the team. In prior years we had no depth at prop.

Hopefully we get a good run with injuries and who knows maybe we will jag another premiership or two.
