Limit on overseas players

We haven't struch any problems ourselves , but we have 4 teams in one age group and there are some rumblings from parents in a couple of the other sides…as I said , you can't keep everyone happy all the time.

What's Racist about it when it when it applies to all O/S players. And is no more racist than SL
But Farm duck , obviously it's a good word to throw around, the idea is to get our clubs to start to again develope our juniors and country kids , and also to develop more Of the islanders and NZers home competitions with the aim to get their own teams in the NRL

A thing can be racist because of its consequences regardless of its original intention. Since you're not advocating having an English team in the NRL because it's so impractical, you're effectively limiting the effects of this change to one area - the Pacific Islands.

I'd do some research if I was you as your numbers of Islanders and Kiwis playing in the NRL are much higher than your figures, or don't you count the players like Benji who came out here at a very young age especially for football. And went through the clubs systems

I don't count NZers at all. Under the free movement of labour treaty between AUS and NZ, you can't restrict NZers coming here for work, or Aussies going there. I'm talking about the number of NRL players who weren't born in OZ or NZ. Wests Tigers have 1 - Delouise Hoeter, born in Tonga - in their NRL squad.

People often cite 37% (or thereabouts) as the number of Polynesians playing in the NRL That may be accurate in terms of where their parents or grandparents were born but the number of NRL players not born in OZ or NZ is actually 3-4%, or less than 20.

I don't want to see them barred from the NRL, and you would have seen that if you had read my post. I'd just like see their home competitions helped and a pathway to the NRL through their own Team

Tonga has a population of 100,000 people. How good could their domestic comp get? Samoa only has 200,000 so same question? Only Fiji and PNG have enough people to sustain a strong domestic comp and even then the only real thing in their favour is the cheap wages. The chances of any of these countries being able to maintain competitive NRL teams is very very slim. Look at PNG Hunters - they've already started asking for extra money from QRL.

Sorry if the post doesn't suit you , but this forum is about opinions, and again, that's what I asked for , so if you want to call me a racist , don't hide behind another poster to do it.

My only concerns about your post is that it is based on incomplete and inaccurate information supporting a wrong conclusion.

Yep but apart from that I thought it was pretty good.
But I'll run all my future posts by you to make sure they suit you
It will give you more chances to call me a racist.
Just for your info, no one said anything about a competition in every pacific country.
