LOL

what a selfish flog this bloke is. seriously.

Hey Nofa ...I'm not sure if you know this ...but a lot of other wingers have this thing called a voice and can scream out to their inside defenders to spread and number up .....you might be doing this ...but maybe they don't think you know crap or are the boy who cries wolf

2nd piece of advice ...if you are going to come screaming in from your wing can you break the opposition attackers ribs .....not let him wonder why the wind suddenly changed direction .....

LOL

Is this legit? Please tell me that's a fake blue tick?

Surely an NRL footballer isn't defending his performance and putting crap on his teammates on Twitter after a performance? Surely?

If thats really him, for that alone he should be dropped.

Can his contract be torn up for that
?

He has a good point though. There was no urgency in our defence first half, each player appeared to be waiting for the ball carrier to pass. Madge (or someone) must have given them a rev at the break, because they warmed to the idea in the second half.
It’s so frustrating to watch this every week.
And trust me, sacking the coach and the halfback will not fix it!

What will fix it?
The coach is supposed to fix things that aren’t working on the field. That’s his job.

People say don’t sack the coach. So we keep getting 30+ points put on us every week until the coach’s contract runs out THEN we appoint a new coach.

Trust me, something has to change.

What will fix it? That’s the simple part.
The club having the appropriate goals shared by a committed group with the single minded objective in the front of their thinking, the only way to achieve those goals is to improve the performance of each other.
And to have the time for this to evolve.
Every time members of the group leave, we go backwards so sacking is not giving us the forward momentum.
It’s the application and continuity of the plan which is the hard part.

no resilience defensively, at all. we've had problems with our edges since the dawn of time, but at this point it is quite simply ridiculous. every single time a football team is in our 20 it's a matter of when, not if. Nofoaluma, Leilua, Roberts, M'Bye and Doueihi are all horrendous.

For God's sake Brooks, teach these clowns how to tackle.

Brooks was just as abysmal in the first half.
He needs to learn how to be a halfback before tutoring defence.

Sometimes hate, overules common sense ,and the ability to see clearly.

I was talking about the first half specifically.
Watch the first 5 minutes ... watch longer if you want to see worse.
Sometimes love clouds reality.

Agreed and I said as much during the game.

I don't think he should be tweeting about it but he's likely sick of getting blamed for things outside his control - like on here.

He's probably saying exactly what Madge said at half time but I firmly believe it should be kept behind closed doors.

Footballers and social media is a recipe for disaster - I hope they're getting some sort of media training to keep them out of strife.

I agree with others' assessment that Nofa is more of the problem than the solution. And, his arrogance and smugness wouldn't help team morale or cohesion. That tweet (if true) is a prime example of it; deflecting blame to his team mates and not accepting his role in yet another defeat. He seems to live in an alternate universe where is ego is emboldened and the truth is whatever he wants it to be.

That tweet if true will cause major disharmony within the team
So for that alone he should be dropped

Nobody is saying he is wrong, but for a professional athlete to play the blame game on social media is a bit amateur

It's also career limiting. What elite sports person does that? How does that improve his status or reputation in the game, not just with WT but with other clubs or rep teams?

Exactly. You should never be that butthurt by fan criticism on social media that you have to go out of your way to publicly explain and post about your tactical decision making.

Almost every pro sports person worldwide with a social platform has to deal with this and 99% just shut their mouth and cop it (or at least address it in a scheduled media scrum setting).

Shows a lack of maturity and a level of insecurity imo.

And then the print media get a hold of it and run your story even further, when you should instead be trying to put the game behind you.

All I want/wanted my team to do is compete for 80 minutes and play as a coordinated team of players, doing the basics well, working to a strategy and putting in.

I'd have thought that was a basic 101 for WT but seems not to be that all season. I cant figure it, they're pretty much a leaderless rabble working to no plan or each other.

Someone mentioned that all contracts should be terminated except two.

That would give you untold money in your cap to sign so called better players.

15 players and you can offer all of them together about one million. i.e. 67,000 per player.

Good luck with that.

I believe it’s beyond our middle. Our middle players are just plugging gaps. It’s the guys on the blind side of the field that think their job is done because the ball isn’t going to come there way. If they were to push across even half a metre and stay alive we’d be a lot tighter on the edges.
Some players have this will to fight for every bone. Players like that would be pushing the middle further across and making it harder for the defence to find holes. We either don’t have those players or we don’t have the understanding of the structures across the line to identify how important presenting a solid line to the opposition is.
I’m not Nofo so I will call out one Lucy. I don’t think he is disinterested I just think he is not able to go the distance and tries to find little opportunities to take short cuts so that he can stay out longer.
This is the kind of methodology that Payten was implying with JT. Everyone sees what he does with the ball but no one asks how can a guy that is in the heavyweight class can stay out that long?
Btw Lucy is 114kg. That is not fit.

Payten was pointing out the short cuts he took in D when he became tired and how it looked from their best player to all the talented back rowers / forwards they have

The middle needs to cut the post contact metres and do everything in their power to get an attacker on his back ...on his side ...not facing straight on ......every millisecond they can save keeps your defence on the front foot

That starts all of our problems in D ....the post contact metres make our defence compress and then Brooks ,Garner , Roberts and LL ,Douehi and Mbye get isolated or stretched to the extremes ....then it just a simple case of an attacker getting on his opposites outside and then it curtains
