**live game feed** vs the Bunnies

AJ lost us the game by being out of position and bombing 2 try scoring opportunities. Talau also bombed a try scoring opportunity when he couldn't execute a simple 2 on 1. DO agree though Huth and MAC made a massive difference when they came on. Aloia was solid but looks tired and Mikelle is not a starting prop although I do understand he is playing with a bung leg at the moment which means he has no drive but we have no one else. Anyone who questions the neeed for Tamou hasnt been watching our starting props get smashed and then Huth and ET being our bench props.

At least they are making the final weeks exciting

Someone put a shock collar on Benji and use it every time he kicks before the 4th tackle

Agree, twice if it’s on the second.

Welcome back from the sin bin.

AJ bingled 2 balls that shuld have been tries and Talau blew another try with hsi 2 on 1 pass where Gagai took the intercept. We had it all over them in that game for the last 60 minutes and should have won it easily. Put that and the Titans game down as our finals chances down the drain

Not watching closely enough - AJ only ruined the Benji pass, he just wasn't experienced enough to be up flatter and completely wasn't expecting it, not an excuse but purely a rookie's mistake.

The other one from AD was ruled a forward pass 🙂

There is always the option for the guy with 17 years experience to look and see where the runner is and pass it to where he is instead of where he wished he was. Again.

Nah , he put it where it needed to be . It’s just another blown set play , if he puts it 1-2 metres behind the advantage line , where AJ was . That we ? AJ fault. That’s fine . He’s 20

Fair enough I can agree that AJ might have been a step behind but to me you either pass it to him or you don’t. There’s no point passing to where he should have or could have been. Even if he gets tackled because you had to hold the pass up a touch I would rather that than lose the ball.

Benji put the pass in the space - if Benji passes directly at AJ, he can't run onto it at speed and make the break. Pass was good, but I don't think AJ was expecting it so was a step back...

If Benji is guilty of anything it's that AJ wasn't aware it was coming...If AJ knew the play was on..it was his fault for his positioning.

Benji threw a no look pass to the third row in hope.

Benji was known for that pass
Now he will be known for that kick
As good as the pass was (2005)
The kick takes the cake as after 19 years in the game
He comes up with that
It's something you expect from a rookie half
Not a seasoned campaigner
Benji does some great things I will give him that
But its the brain explosions that kill us
I am sure he would like his time again at that moment
Thanks for the memories Benji
But time to enjoy your retirement

Again I just get confused with madge's rotation ..he keeps our props on for longer and than usual and we get roasted in that 5 minutes

Then we finally get on the front foot and we can really use Grant and Liddle and Liddle gets what .....8 minutes

If only Liddle gets positive with that blind play with about 5 to go ...the 3rd man had turned and committed to him ....all he needed to fully commit him and an easy numbers try to Kepoea

But thats what happens when you bring a back up hooker on chasing the game with so little time ..you don't give him a chance to find his feet ....mirror time Madge ..have a long look ....

Keep the props on for so long in that first rotation Cost us big time. I was trying to work out what the plan was as it didn’t make any sense. Mikaele could barely run behind the dead ball line when he was due to come off.

I hear ya CT.... But if the kick was a little softer yada yada.... These great things he does are low % high risk as well... It's just they comeoff....if he don't try he dont do, those "great things"

As others have said all year he's really the only spark, we have

If tonight proved anything its that the rabbits will prob get bundled out of the finals quickly they should've put 40 on us with the start the boys had.

They really aren’t that good. The way they beat Parra sucked a lot in, but Parra had had that hiding coming for weeks. No way are they beating Penrith, Roosters or the Storm.

Even if the kick was perfect I don’t think we score there. There were a few Souths players there. However if we held the footy then we probably crash over for a try that set

After 17 years of first grade I was in shock that he did that. No wonder we can’t make finals when that’s our most experienced players best plan, one of the stupidest plays I’ve ever seen! Playing high risk footy rarely works out just ask roosters or Melbourne, it’s not 2005 anymore you can’t get away with it.

Like another poster alluded to earlier: that kick is going to leave an indelible mark in our minds.

It’s tragic really.

Maybe if the game meant something. If it was a final. There was nothing on the line. Mathematical rubbish doesn’t count.

Out of all the options he had that was the stupidest. He was demanding the ball and got it only to come up with that

The media seem to give him a pass because he has his moments of brilliance and I love the bloke but man am I sick watching him play like that. He’s the least calculated most high risk high reward half in the competition and unfortunately it does more harm than good.

He had a similar brain fart against manly aswell. Only luckily that time we got a result out of it (just)

He got lucky that Funa took the ball out then otherwise it would’ve been the exact same.

Not sure why he loves kicking early so much it rarely work. Farah did the same all of last year too, constantly kicked on third tackle to no avail. Probably some tactic from 2005 that they think still works

By putting the kick in, there were always going to be 4 outcomes:

1. We score
2. We get a repeat set
3. They clean it up and first tackle Souths
4. The ball goes dead.

I'd argue that no one was within scoring distance, so number 1. was 0% chance - max 5% if there was a fumble.

I'd argue a repeat set with very little time left on the clock wasn't a desirable outcome given Souths would have run down the clock giving us less time.

And...number 3 and 4, of course, are not desirable outcomes.

The main point is that if you only have a 5% chance of a desirable outcome, why make that choice?

I don't really have an issue with anything else he did in the game.

Here's a thought, if a coach was on the nose with his players do you believe what we witnessed last night or the week before would have happened? Seems a few players want to play for the coach.

Prior to the game I would’ve agreed with you more, but I became invested in the match and wholly believed that we were actually going to pull off another miracle until Benji did that.

That’s Benji though and that’s always been Benji. He goes for the 10% play instead of playing like an actual smart, composed player. He tries too hard out there and decision making goes out the window completely. As much as he had the 6 on his back he was the main playmaker last night constantly demanding the ball.

Nofo giving it to Twal for his brain fade getting 10 in the bin was a highlight

Twal is looking like he might end up a below average first grad player atm. He needs to get that stuff out of his game.
