Wouldn't it kill you as a team mate? You have all your forward rushing up, looking for the big hits. Trying to aim up in defence. And you pull off a 1 on 1 strip! Chance to win the match. And before you can even get your breath back, Benji kicks it dead and you have to defend a 7 tackle set.

Then after the game, all the attention and accolades go to Benji. And the media can't believe we are not offering him a new contract.

Former players always remember a moment when they say the game passes them by and they know it's time to hang up the boots.

Benji, tonight was another moment. It's time mate.

All the commentary team were doing is making a push for Benji so someone will be silly enough to pick him up
next year ...thank God its not us ...he needs to leave a good legacy not a poor one...

We've all been complaining about how slow Doueihei is. How slow does that make Gagia if AD was able to run him down?

I never thought AD was slow , he looked gassed . Like when he made that break , Nd got run down by halfway .he just looked buggered.

Not watching closely enough - AJ only ruined the Benji pass, he just wasn't experienced enough to be up flatter and completely wasn't expecting it, not an excuse but purely a rookie's mistake.

The other one from AD was ruled a forward pass 🙂

There is always the option for the guy with 17 years experience to look and see where the runner is and pass it to where he is instead of where he wished he was. Again.

Of course, was a pearler of a pass though.

It could have been. But if it was half a meter closer to Kepaoa he catches it and still has plenty of space to move.

It wasn’t on though . The middles were getting on top . The time I thought to bring him on was when it was 11 vs 12 . We got a few quick ply the balls there . I feel like he could taken advantage

Yeah exactly that would have been the play, we were fired up at that point bringing Lids on might have given us a fresh spark to get over the top of them.

You also have to defend a man short. They have an extra man on the field and you want the two smallest guys defending in the middle?

Madge was trying to defend that period when Twal was off. Would have been a disaster with liddle and grant out there.

IMO the sin binning delayed liddle getting out there

Let’s run with your point. We held them pretty well during that period and were even on top of them for periods in that time until we gave up the try just before Twal was due to come back on with 21 mins to go. Would you have found more than 7 mins for Lids to make an impact?

Agree with more than 7mins but it would have been cutting our own throats to have two little blokes in the middle defending whilst Twal was off gagai was back on only a couple of minutes after Twal

I see where you are coming from, you may well be right. I just don’t recall us defending that entire 10 min period and as I said I thought there were patches we were on top of them that we could have capitalised on with the spark of Lids and Grant working together with the additional space available. Atleast get Lids on when it went back to 13 on 13. I like Garner but I also didn’t think he was having his best night and I’m not convinced his defence is more sound that what the two little blokes would have offered.

He was then attacked in the face more a palm but gave a real punch instead, although i don;t condone violence i also don't condone dirty filthy play.

Gagai got what he deserved and this might be the making of brooks although he might get a week.

Luke was hit in the face before the ball was thrown at him, that is why he was so angry.

It was still a brain dead decision by Brooks to charge 10m and throw one back. Absolutely idiotic, when we were one man down already. go through your captain, make a complaint, but what he did was very silly. We're lucky we didn't have the penalty overturned.

On the contrary, I think charging the 10m was great and then he had a decision to make after Gagai gave him another slap. The decision that he then took to smack him in the mouth was an even greater decision, one that even if he gets a week off, it will be worth it for his development. Whilst not at his best for parts of this season, we have seen a bit of him coming back in recent weeks to at worst a first grade half and his stand tonight will further this player's confidence, one that is lacking at times.

Why do you hate brooks ? I’m curious ? Because not many halves win games by themselves anymore . I think Thurston was the last one . To me the game winners are wearing the number 1 jersey and sometimes 6 or 11 .

Fair points by all. I mean at the time I thought it was quite silly. But yeah it did spur us on in the second half, I didn't really think of attributing the comeback to Brooks throwing one.

And I must admit it was nice seeing a player have the balls to throw a punch instead of these embarrassing push and shove matches we have now. Thanks Gallen.

Doueihi is hard to read. Has the odd "Tigers" moment but generally gets better and better at a very rapid rate before having a stinker or two.

I think it is just experience and a position but I would keep him in the centres as it simplifies his game and reduces the brain farts.

Got to say I would have loved to have Mbye there for the last 10. Who would've thought that!

Confidence is the key to him . I say screw it . Give him the keys next year . It will legit be the first time I think . He’s always had someone , even Moses next to him. To me give him the C and the keys to the team and tell him it’s truely yours . Put jock madden next to him , even Mbye and see what happens . Some players rise to the idea of it all being on them . Brooks to me has always been the kind of guy, who if he thinks he’s the number 2 , that’s his default . But if he’s the number 1 then he controls us . If we put a half who can tackle on the other side and fix our middle defence , it can’t be worse

Brooks was up for the grind tonight when we came back . It wa benji adding to his greatest hits . That ball should have been set up for a strike down the left , where we had joy all night , where brooks was . Nope overcalled down the right for a grubber to nothing .
He literally lead the fight back . I don’t know how you don’t see that .
