Unfortunately I didnt see the game as I had to close the club at 5 due to the lockdown...

However just reading through this thread we had a win which to me is great, the young guys got a run and some did well and others are still learning....

I did notice the Madge haters had their usual input and cant give credit where its due in regard the young guys developing got NRL time while the other teams cant play...koe,flegg etc...

Madge will eventually get this team in the finals with a good squad of young players...his main aim has been to get rid of the bad culture we had and develop young skillful talented players...we are on our way..

congrats to the team and coach for getting the 2 points ...well done...

TT, he's only been here three years and the standard of our play is a disgrace.

I’m long patches we looked good and the was a clear plan to what we were doing. We couldn’t keep it up for 80 but you can see the coaching there

Yep, didn't think we were ever going to lose this one though?

There was a moment....

Tommy Talau (10 tries) the first WT player other than David Nofoaluma to reach double figures in a season since 2016. (9 - Thompson x2, Marsters, Naiqama)

Looks like Ken has moved past the emotional part of moving on from NZ. Been one of our best the last couple of weeks. Big yardage carries and finishing well is what he was all about in NZ and he’s done that well again of late

If Cowboys had a proper centre and not Granville, things would have been so different.

How do you know that - have you got a crystal ball?

Him and Nofo are both pretty good at letting them in as well.:face_with_rolling_eyes:
Must say Talau had a much better game yesterday .. up to the inevitable mistakes.
Maybe he was tired, but you can't use that as an excuse.

Positive signs from a lot of the young guns - Talau, Utoikamanu, Simpkin, Simpkins, Tuilagi & Blore. Going to be growing pains without reserve grade to iron out issues but some good signs from that group.

Brooks has such low football IQ to strip that

Crap - there was a split second in that - you are allowed to strip when a player is going for a try.

Of course you wouldn't get a rub of the green off either Sutton.

Any other player does it in the same situation, yet when he does it…he’s dumb

Mbye 59 meters. The rest of the team made so many meters so doesn't really matter. He was safe at the back and had another try assist but would cini be a better compliment to the team?

Mbye haters need not reply

What have you seen in Cini that would suggest that he would be better?

You noted Mybe was safe at the back, have we seen evidence that Cini is safe under the high ball? No, the contrary. Have we seen evidence of a passing game from him? I havent.

100% - firstly in normal speed the tackle was hardly completed, and the ref supposedly called held (which was a very quick call) but I didn’t hear him, and I’m sure Brooks didn’t either. Secondly if the guy planted the ball we’d all be pissed that he didn’t do enough to stop him.
It was a top quality play from Brooks in my view, and one of many examples of biased refereeing decisions in that game.

Christ we’re awful. Legitimately awful.

Wow.
2 in a row and ahead of three other teams and a win out of the 8.
Some people would boo Santa Claus….

He's being honest. Enough with the faux positivity.

And I’m not?
It’s not faux positivity, it’s just that I choose not to rant and rave and metaphorically slit my wrists over something that I have no control over and that fact that it’s a game, that we won, and now two in a row, and there’s a lot of of other crap happening in the world.

So…… yeah

You're the one who mentioned another commenter acting like he/she was wrong to be dissapointed... if you can't handle the retort, don't comment. The state of the world has nothing to do with this

I can handle anything you want to throw champ. As he is entitled to says he disappointed I m entitled to say a wins and win……so get over yourself and have a good one.

Have fun watching this team miss the 8 again and again next year. I hope you enjoy it as much as you've enjoyed the last ten years.

Mate, someone should have eaten you at Christmas.

I think you secretly support the other 15 teams.

We need to settle down a bit - you can't get carried away with a win like that but you also have to understand the situation this team is in. We are such a young squad and have some potent players in Stefano, AD, Blore, Luciano, Simpkin, Simpkins and Tuilagi.

That doesn't change the fact they have close to no good leadership out there. When the tough gets going, your experienced leaders are meant to drive the standards. Who is out there doing that? We have maybe 1 or 2 out there with decent experience and even with Tamou it is not enough. You need people who have been there done that to help get the young ones through.

If we manage to scrape the finals, great. I personally don't expect to make it with this current squad. There is just not enough leadership or enough mentally strong players. I really wish we got Dale F over the line. I do think Maguire's current approach might be too demanding on such a young squad although I think he is trying to lift the standards of this club as a whole in doing so.

Agree with most of what you said. Do not agree with Finucane, Think he is looking for a retirement package and is only a couple of head knocks away from sitting with Cordner.
