Whilst on the topic of live game feeds is anybody watching Manly dismantle Parramatta. I quickly went on to a Parra fan site and they are going beserk! Made me laugh so much. Matterson sent off, Moses hopeless. Parra putrid. Their fans would have thought they could win the comp at the start of the year. I reckon we'll win another comp before them.

Aside from the win from our boys, seeing the slimers get lapped is a highlight in my weekend!

Best all-around night of football in many weeks. I was almost as happy to see Eels get belted as Tigers get the win, especially the manner in which my least favourite players all came up short - Matto sent off, Nathan Brown hooked after too many errors, Moses crushed after taking it to the line (for once in his life) and generally failing all-around to be the halfback Eels need. Gutherson doing nothing except having to constantly plug defensive holes.

And credit to Manly, they play a really attractive brand of football. I'm not old enough for the genesis of the Silvertails, and whilst I'm no Manly fan, I can definitely respect a team that's willing to throw the football around, play hard, and they have mostly got the scumbags out of their side (even Dylan Walker seems to have pulled his head in).

Feeling sorry however for my main man Hank Scorpio aka Brad Parker getting mauled by Matterson's right shoulder.

The sideways running and all the facial expressions needs to stop.

I really don't understand it. Either he's extremely thick (in the head) or he just gets spooked when he's out there, but he is a VERY effective hard/straight runner. Almost always pushes through the tackle when he just winds up, particularly if he's fielding a kickoff or drop-out (with a long run-up).

But more than half of his hitups are this janky sideways crap, that sometimes he steps out of, sometimes he gets driven back, and whilst he does still break a lot of tackles, he mostly gets knocked off balance and does not provide a strong forward-direction platform. If Nofo instead just runs straight and hard from the first minute, he tends to have a good match; it sets a tone.

The difference last night between watching Nofo tool around, and Maumalo just winding up for every carry.

He was good last year and literally had been revolting this year other than a few easy tries here and there.

I think he's got too big for his boots.
Went from a heart and soul of the club type player to one that's more concerned with his hair being tidy and looking tough.

He's not delivering on field and as GNR pointed out, contracted for 4 more years.

He should be Brian To'o levels of power and commitment but he's a side ways running, spray his team mates, social media diva. It's extremely upsetting.

If we can arrange a swap or shop him off elsewhere, we should really be considering it.

I wonder what Luciano said to Nofa after the Cowboys last try? Nofa positioned himself between runners and got a good view of his opposite scoring. He should have trusted Luciano to nail his man, which he did.
The team missed only 14 tackles all night.

IMO its his ego. He thinks he is still Dally M winger of the year. I kills me when the commentators pump him up like last night when he is jinking around "oh look how hard he is to tackle".

Its pure ego. In the first half, he DID get pegged against the sideline and he did the right thing jinking infield but then he straightened up and tried to score, running into three defenders whilst LL was screaming into a hole and over the line of Nofos left hip.

I agree totally, very disappointing and frustrating.

What gets me irritated most is that in an era of a general lack of outstanding wing talent, a top-output Nofoaluma is a genuine Origin prospect, especially for his physical style. As you say, Brian To'o is very similar style and has gone straight past Nofo in the course of 1-2 seasons.

The upside is - he is totally capable of turning it around. He's had very good seasons before for Tigers, even when the club isn't doing well (despite the club not doing well). And I won't completely forget or dismiss that in other difficult times, Nofo did stand for the Tigers, for what the club means and what loyalty means, even if he himself falls in and out of form across different seasons.

Yeh, I guess so. I thought Nofa was ready to do that based on his game last week? It seems old habits die hard.

Cutting down the tally poppy, he causes more tries and is involved in more tries than anyone else in the team.
