It was a top quality play from Brooks in my view, and one of many examples of biased refereeing decisions in that game.

I couldn't believe he was penalized for that. That should have been our ball. It was great defense by Brooks.

The defence moved up in a line for once and seemed a lot more confident in each other .I hope this continues as all the better teams have this as second nature

It was a good tackle ruined… ending up costing a try anyway.
He was clearly held … it was stupid.

Liddle and Mikaele looking at
1-2 weeks suspension. Both for crusher tackles

Didn’t we have 4 players on report?

Can't remember, MCK got a fine

Tom deserves the week off after all his mistakes, plus Tamou to come back into the team anyway.

Liddle missing is a problem. We looked better with the two hookers, and now we will be back to where we were two weeks ago.

Overall my two bobs worth on that game is that we started better than usual and looked a lot more interested in winning than we have in some past games. In the first half we should have scored more points but had to deal with the ref not policing the ruck and also standing 8 meters back for them, plus some really stupid and costly mistakes which halted any momentum. The pitch didn't help either - very slippery that end.
We were slow to start out of the sheds in the second half and lucky that they were also poor. I thought most of our guys played well apart from the usual offenders (TT and Mbye), Noffa was poor and Mikaele average. Liddle was good in the first half but still goes missing at dh too much. Simpkin added some spark and should have been on 10 mins earlier. Blore is improving each game and Tuilagi showed something as well. Uto was our best forward and Luc got involved in a bit more D although his A wasn't as effective has usual.
MCK defended well but is useless in A as a typical centre - needs to make runs out wide like an edge player instead of trying to be a centre. AD was good in some areas of his game but poor in others, however his D was more solid. Brooks played well for the most part but seemed his running game was put off by the slippery surface- his kicking game was 50:50 and the sin bin was an unlucky outcome for some great defence by him.
Shame Laurie is out, (Garner and Seyfarth as well), as with him playing right now instead of Mbye we would be a far better proposition.

I don't agree completely with a couple of points but it's a fair assessment of the game, I think. I do like the defence that MCK brings to the centre spot but I agree his attack is problematic.

The reality is we have managed to beat the stugglers below us (Dogs, Cows, Broncs) but the gap between the class of WT and the genuine contenders in 2021 is huge.

That is true but there are not many genuine contenders,i count 2 genuine and 2 maybes. The other 12 teams just make up the numbers even though 4 make the playoffs

Brooksy's first win as a Tigers captain. First time a local junior has captained a win of the club since Farah's last win as captain
(Round.15, 2019).

Doueihi was the real captain though eh 😉

Mikaele no massive loss, will be annoying not having two hookers. Might be the return of cini bench to come on so Mbye goes hooker, don't see Simpkin lasting 80 minutes in the middle.

We need to settle down a bit - you can't get carried away with a win like that but you also have to understand the situation this team is in. We are such a young squad and have some potent players in Stefano, AD, Blore, Luciano, Simpkin, Simpkins and Tuilagi.

That doesn't change the fact they have close to no good leadership out there. When the tough gets going, your experienced leaders are meant to drive the standards. Who is out there doing that? We have maybe 1 or 2 out there with decent experience and even with Tamou it is not enough. You need people who have been there done that to help get the young ones through.

If we manage to scrape the finals, great. I personally don't expect to make it with this current squad. There is just not enough leadership or enough mentally strong players. I really wish we got Dale F over the line. I do think Maguire's current approach might be too demanding on such a young squad although I think he is trying to lift the standards of this club as a whole in doing so.

Agree with most of what you said. Do not agree with Finucane, Think he is looking for a retirement package and is only a couple of head knocks away from sitting with Cordner.

Finucane came off in the first few minutes the other night after a knock, never came back.

Hope he's got good doctors around him, giving him good advice.... not worth playing the game if you won't be able to remember it.

CTE and brain damage is no joke and he seems to have been on the bad end of a lot of head trauma over the years.

I hate saying it, but we dodged a bullet with him... but that aside, more importantly - he should put his health first.

Yep, proper brain explosion. Obviously he was between a rock and a hard place at the time but he only made things worse by being binned.

The game could have been over in the first half but we managed to come up with 8 errors that kept the Cowboys in it - who btw missed something like 20 tackles in the first half! The scoreline should have been a lot better and we simply need to cut down on the errors big time, it's a big reason why we can't compete against the better teams.

Hard to find a spot for inspirational captain T when he's fit. Much better use on the sidelines cheering

if there's such a thing as a disappointing win... we just saw it

A lot of people said the same thing last week. This is the reality of where the team is at though.

I don't get the "should have won by 40" comments, again. Tigers have won 8 games all year, any win is a good outcome, especially if we can get on a run of wins.

Only the Top 4 or 5 put teams to the sword right now.
