Live Game Thread #GCTWST

A bit of post match insight for the people who weren't at the game, I hung around after the match down at the fence to congratulate the boys seeing its probably the only game this poor qld resident will get to attend this season, and from my observation Brooks wasn't entirely happy with himself/the game in general, out of every player I encountered he had the feeling of a loss about him.

Just back from the stadium, and yeah, it was a fairly scrappy game from where I was sitting. Most of the forward were O.K. - Woods, Tapau and Lodge were strong. Sirro played pretty well. Farah was way down on form and Keith was 'only just' in my opinion.
**Backs showed nothing. Brooks looked better in the second half with a couple of nice darts. Teddy had no opportunities. K.N. was the standout.**

thats really harsh….. Simona had a blinder, maybe not so much with his usual flair, though well covered his misgivings with the quality of the rest of his performance.

We were ordinary and snatched victory from the jaws of defeat. At the beginning of the year you'll take the comp points however they come but there's a great deal to work on. Poor ball security is again a concern. Plenty of footy to come though so I won't slit my wrists yet.

The Fresh Prince will have a few blokes on their toes.

Frozone was good. In all honesty with the amount of football Nofo has missed, he'll need to work his way back via State Cup to gain match fitness in any event.

Haven't seen the game. But stumbled across the score
Was it as bad as i am assuming
1 point over the titanss that should be in turmoil
I expected. 20 point win

Assessment please

Were we crap. Were they excellent

We showed a lot of character, experience and maturity.

dead set some people are easily pleased, that was terrible, most teams will towel us up on that performance, JT on that effort is no better than Potter.

we got very lucky they didnt rule woods' ''try'' a double movement…which it clearly was...I think richards scored after that

It ain't a double movement if it didn't touch the white line.

It ended up on the white line….after clearly being more than an arms width short.Thats why Badger ruled "TRY" .

We have lots to work on

Considering people were predicting we'd put 40 on them, the only good thing about it was the competition points.

No it didn't,his hand that was in front of the ball never made the line.

We were scrappy and ill disciplined, but we won and showed some ticker in defence,JT said don't expect miracles first few weeks, but we are heading in the right direction.
By around round 6 we should see some real improvement, and all the naysayers might just have to shut up for a while.
There was enough positives for me to feel we are improving, whilst not stoked about tonight,I am quitely confident we will have an ok year.

No it didn't, Daniel Mortimers hand came over the top at the end, made it look like the ball went forward.

Double movement?

I think the rule book needs to be brought out.

Where was the promotion of the football?

If there was any movement, and it didnt look like there was, it was momentum.

Simona was excellent. He needs to keep that left centre spot. He has earned it

I think Simona is a gun. He looks dangerous all the time. We need to give him more opportunities.

He did look good, but geez he always looks injured after being tackled.

I was away this weekend and it is always entertaining reading back through a 'Live' game thread….All I can say is .....Carry ON...next week

O.K i just caught on this Thread , I don't mean to bring this subject back up But…....

Now please explain ?
I was at the Titans vs Tigers game , so i didn't hear the commentary on Fox or watched the replay of the game afterwards.
The Woods Try ? From what i saw at the game he ruled TRY and sent it to the Video Ref to check what ??? Now i'm guessing the ruling from the video Ref was that he was short ? cause he made us play the ball and if it was a Double Movement? Titans would of got the Penalty .
From the replay they showed at the game there is inconclusive evidence to over rule the opinion of the Ref on the field , how on Earth can the video Ref over rule the Ref on the Field when in his mind being a couple of metres away his deemed that a Try .
Please explain?
