Well, most consistent forward anyway.

Russ I know how fond you are of Jennings as a player, but last night he was doing rather well than some of his previous displays..

I know, all credit to him. He was only sub standard, instead of pathetic.

Didn’t do a thing wrong until his injury. I know you don’t like the bloke but cmon now ?

Scored a try, I know, but once again no one in front of him and then he injured himself without any one touching him.

When Mbye made the break following Nofo's brilliant pass, he had Lucy backing up on the ouside (he dummied to him), had Brooks backing up on the inside (he passed to him) and he scored.

Point being....Where was the "Bludger"?

I'll tell you!!!!! Jogging along behind the play..."He is kidding isn't he?"

If he wasn't injured you would drop him for that alone!

Whilst he was on the field, he did no more than be average - I am not going to give him a wrap for being sub standard or at a real stretch average.

Doing nothing wrong is not the standard we should accept.

I know - he had so much practice at Souffs, falling over line with no one in front of him, in fact he did it 17 times in 2018.

Probably after his performances in 2019 - he was out of practice.

Reynolds the new king of kicking on the third. Brain dead.

but but but but........."energy"...."***ENERGY!!!*** .

One of the dumbest footballers Ive seen and should not be in a playmaking position. Part time dummy half(pick up and pass) is his only value to this team IMO.

Agreed. He dropped the ball dead of the kick off in the first few minutes after our first try. That kick and also racing off the line in defence leaving the remainder of the right side defence way back. ***You expect better from an $800k player***.

I dont unfortunately, and Ive been saying this since day 1. Many here are enamoured by his "great guy" persona (also not genuine) and his energy, "buzz" and niggle...but I just picture Maguire sitting REynolds down to explain the game plan to him and REynolds staring at him wide eyed going "yep...yep.....yep" and going out there like an 18month old puppy and racing out of the line, kicking early and doing whatever the hell he wants because he learnt that "energy" and buzz gets you picked in SOO.

Seriously ? Benji can’t tackle . Has never been able to tackle that effectively . Defence wins games . We have shown we can score points with or without benji. It’s especially worse now because benji clearly has lost that lateral mobility. It happens! I feel like josh was looking to shift momentum with those kicks . I get it. But sometimes you need to grind the momentum back. He clearly saw an opening that closed as quickly as it opened.
Energy is hugely important . Especially when things are going against you. A charge down , a tackle one on one in goal , a huge hit , a forced mistake . These things are unquantifiable.
I was one to scratch my head as to whether those kicks should have happened, but I dunno . I’d rather an engaged half than not. Look at the broncos halves or the sharks . Even the bulldogs . They would all scream for a bit of energy right now .

Mate, there's people in here that would hate Reynolds if he scored 50 points per game. The bloke set up most of our tries and gets that right side flying. We're beating a side by 34 points and people are bagging him. What about Twal giving away repeat sets on 5th tackle for leg pulling when the ref is screaming in his ear. His racing up out of the line didn't cost us one point and in fact unsettled the Cowboys attack. Madge's focus is defence, do they think he would cop Reynolds doing that if he wasn't happy with it? Give the bloke a break. The two games he's started we were unlucky against the probable grand finalists and we get out to a 30 point lead before injuries took out our two best forwards. Yeah, bring Benji back.

Yeah, Reynolds rushed up, but very quickly and only enough to put pressure on the spread, whilst not leaving enough gap for Drinkwater to capitalise upon. The Twal penalties, particularly the holding the leg up for seconds after being called upon to release was hair pulling crazy and a real WTForum moment for me, though as was Reynolds stupid 3rd tackle kick.

Yea like I said , I sort of get what Reynolds was doing with those kicks . He saw an opportunity to swing the game back to us, it either was poorly executed , or the gap closed as soon as it opened or both . It was the definition though of an all or nothing play.
But whatever he’ll go away and look at it , takes his licks And be back next week. I can’t see benji taking the 6 off him, no matter how he’s people want to picket for it .
We won , and played really well last week . The consistency is getting there , and if we can see it , so can Madge.
Also as a side note , LOL to the DrOp BrOoKs campaign. It was obvious he was our premier half . Despite his lack of opportunities in the past few weeks .

I have to say and I was one that also said Brooks needs time on the pine after the Tiatans game, however,I see in the last 2 games Raiders and Cowboys that Lukes game has definitely opened up especially last night when he runs the ball....
I will make a statement now "Benji has been choking the kid for to long,he is playing better with Grub alongside of him,I will take all the critics sprays but I think I have a point...

I agree ..... Brooks Reynolds pairing seems solid. And particularly for next week games Reynolds will be keen to be at his best.
I would still have Benji on the bench particularly with the current injury toll we seem to have after last nights game.

You had the Wiltshire out for Brooks earlier and now its Marshall's fault?

In the end winning a game where you concede 53% possession, 70% territory, an 8-4 penalty count and set restarts about 9-5 is remarkable. Our discipline was atrocious!

Playing Mbye on the wing v Feldt was suicidal. Giving up 20cm and 20kgs. Mck definitely had to play wing to try and match Feldt physically, Mbye was doing well at centre, no need to move him.

Reynolds had a poor game last year night. Threw a bad intercept, kicked on the second when we'd barely touched the ball. Still got 2 try assists though.

Our kicking game was extremely poor. We never managed the game. Brooks just can't do it. We're exhausted and he still keeps putting up midfield bombs and chips rather than kicking to the corner to slow the game down. It's not hard it's very clear and obvious. He can kick to the corner he just doesn't. Not halfback material with management like that.

Our attack was good first half and our line defence was strong considering half the game was played on our try line. The injuries killed our combos and rotation.

Enough positives but still plenty to work on

The issue for me is not having JRey in the team - it’s the role he plays. Yes he brings energy and puts his body on the line In defence but a key part of his role is to be responsible for the right side attack. He is at his most effective when running the ball and using his step. He doesn’t have the skill set Benji does in attack in terms of setting up his outside players and this makes it easier for teams to defend against us.

I also think it’s a large ask by Madge to have Harry Grant play a full 80 at this stage of his career. I’d therefore have JRey on the bench to provide energy from the bench and rotate between Benji, JRey and Grant. Also, I think the service JRey provides from dummy half needs work as well.

Reynolds at DUMMY HALF to Musgrove. TRY. Reynolds on the right side to Douehi, to BJ, TRY. Reynolds on the left, kick to Mbye. TRY. Etc. Etc.

You say that but I’m sure when he took the pass and ran to the try line like a runaway freight train you were jumping up and down and screaming with excitement.

One thing I have to say is Brooks' defence has stepped up big time over the past few years....compared to how he used to be he's made big gains

Ah , you do realise , the mid field bomb , is not an attacking kick right ? It’s whole point is to get the defensive line right where the receiver is . To remove the kick return ? It’s actually a good tactic. When you kick to the corner , if the return is good it’s usually a legs tackle which gets the attack on the front foot .

You had the Wiltshire out for Brooks earlier and now its Marshall's fault?

I reckon Grub lets Brook play his game while Benji is always making the plays and not letting him play his running game...

Russ I know how fond you are of Jennings as a player, but last night he was doing rather well than some of his previous displays..

When Mbye made the break Jennings stopped for a pie ?

If he had of supported he may have got a meat pie, instead Brooks got it.

He’s a garbage player ..
Slower than a wet week
Turning circle of a cruise ship
Runs 6 meters in 3 years and blows a hammy ?

He’s not that bad. He got in a good position to score the try. He’s a big boy and can find the try line
