**live game thread** Us vs the Roosters

@rustycage That’s how it works unfortunately, there all blinded but that huge sombrero! Remember my conga line of suck holes !

This game pretty much sums us up for me. We tried hard but lacked polish when it counted. We get mugged in the play the ball when in possession and seem to have a hard time formulating a plan inside the opposition 20. Our defensive line is mostly passive in terms of line speed and aside from Faf we don’t pressure the kicker enough. We also have a healthy habit of getting punished for just about every error we make with or without the ball. Again some really good efforts from the team but we need to find a way to win the key moments more regularly.

He wasn't tonight and his mistake plus poor goalkicking cost us the game. It happens so regularly some accept it. Time for new young players like Bradley and Dylan Smith on the wings at a fraction of the cost but substantially greater pace.

@momo_amp_medo I agree with you. We really gave them a hard time out there. We were good. If we had a JAC or two we'd be a different side.

@The_Patriot and that’s a fair point to which I won’t detract but totally downplaying the impact of refs on the outcome tonight is ignorant. Usually you make respectable if outspoken points that do not disrespect or disregard legitimate points by others.

Seems like u have an angle here though.

@BalmainJnr And the harsh reality is to do that different personnel has to be brought in but we know what a mess the salary cap is .

right now that angle is Josh Reynolds.

Supporters - dropped sitter of a bomb and goalkicking cost us the game. Change out the wingers, get Marsters to work hard on his positioning as a centre in attack and find a goalkicker. We need to really promote some youth..

Fair point mate. We blew it last time we had the opportunity to bring in different personnel and found a way to bring in more of the same just with a few better known names. Hopefully we learnt a few lessons from that experience.

@The_Patriot totally agree . I’d actually give Reynolds and Marshall a shot together

A) brooks, in no uncertain terms, gets told he needs to be better in 1st grade and also AGAIN show that he’s way too good for reserves... if he can’t well we know what Madge’ll do

B) j. Rey gets a good chance to show his wares and also to find form again - could easily coincide with a well organised late run to the finals, or he may run around like a headless chook and not contribute much at all. Gonna find out soon enough

C) I actually think brooks will learn to step up but he hasn’t learn it yet on the run in 1sts and some players after a legitimate decent run in reserve grade are able to learn again what’s needed to breathe life into said career and keep up to the pace of potentially even origin. We’d all love this final outcome but the only way I see him ever realising the key areas he’s getting wrong right now , is by simplifying the crap out of it with some absolute deadwood around him . Perfect time right now to try it with CC struggling and many seemingly good young players coming through to press for spine/back positions in the next year or two

Marshall 300th out of the way next week

Brooks in the 14. Get him into dummy half and tell him to run. Cya Robbie

@TieDye if Reynolds stays injury free he must be considered for selection , if most think he is not much of a player he certainly has the drive and spark and is pretty quick .. those three points alone is something the team is missing, he certainly is no worse a player that many of the team at present are ! But I suppose if his nose does not fit ...

I actually miss Mitch Moses. Guy at least steps up occasionally.

That’ll do me. I can never take you seriously again.
